Default Race 3 - More Villain, Less Hero

Race 3 is bit too long and crammed with too many actions set pieces to leave you on an adrenaline high, but definitely not dull or lazy as its trailer suggested. The Race starts off pretty slow, but catches up by the intermission point, and has in store enough twists and turns to keep you invested through its run time. The barrage of twists was a common feature in previous instalments, but Race 3, to its credit, never forsakes the simplicity of the plot. This masala movie mode operation, works in favour of the film and easily makes it the best in the franchise. Jacqueline and Daisy Shah deliver more than that was expected from them and it is also a decent outing for Bobby Deol, who despite having precious little to do, manages to hold his own.

On the flip side, music is a downer and Salman?s performance, despite having the usual ingredients is never wholly satisfying, the difficulties while enacting emotional scenes, continues here as well.

I too don?t have a clue about who the Sikander of the next Race is, but I wish they retain Anil Kapoor?s Shamser Singh, who makes for a riveting masala movie villain.

The hero might have saved the day for the characters, but it is the villain who saves the film.
