After the 2014 blockbuster hit Bangalore Days,talented filmmaker Anjali Menon is back with 'Koode',a touching tale of relationships,based upon Sachin Kundalkar's 2014 marathi flick "Happy Journey" that received good applause from the critics during its release.Blessed with rich visuals,an intense narrative and brilliant performances,this Anjali Menon film has succeeded in working out lovable chemistry between the lead actors,making it a thoroughly enjoyable feel good flick for all the sections of the audience.

A decade since her debut with Manjadikuru,Anjali Menon has concreted her position as one among the most sought after film-makers from mollywood,which she has ascertained again with this neatly-crafted tale of compassion that mixes fantasy and reality in the right equation.The story embarks upon a journey for reinventing lost love and relationships,utiliizing Prithviraj Sukumaran's Joshua as the focal point,but at the same time giving ample screen-space to present the bonding between siblings,parents,lovers and even a football coach and his student.

The narrative moves with a lethargic pace taking its time to portray deep rooted emotions between the protagonists,but never tests the patience of viewers,thanks to the finesse of narrative by Anjali that never falters from its basic idea to demarcate between natural bonding and one that arises due to duties inflicted on us.The idea to utilize symbols for presenting few critical instances in the movie was daring and worked out well on screen.The movie also has few noticeable flaws like a predictable climax and few instances of melodrama that prevents it from being called the best film from Anjali Menon who has given some brilliant films in the past like Manjadikuru and Usthad Hotel.

The movie holds some strong performances from the actors,especially Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nazriya Nazim who were at their best utilizing their cute chemistry to the fullest.The talented actor who has been criticized for being repetitive with his roles has come up with a refreshing lead role as Joshua who's sure to win hearts of the moviebuffs.Parvathy too played her part impressively along-with solid supporting performances from the likes of Ranjith Balakrishnan,Mala Parvathi and Roshan Mathew.Atul Kulkarni who played the protagonist in the original marathi version made his presence felt with his pretty impressive portrayal of Joshua's mentor coach Ashraf.

Frames by Littil Swayamp were stellar and played an imperative part in elevating the impact of emotional sequences.Raghu Dixit has marked his entry into Mollywood with a really memorable album that's made even better with two soulful songs by M.Jayachandran.Rest of the technical side of the movie was rock solid with neat cuts by Praveen Prabhakar,catchy art direction,vfx and color grading.

Overall,Koode is a hearty feel good film that's worth a watch for impressive performances and touching narrative.
