Default Gold & Mulk - My Review !

    Gold

    Movietime, 2:30pm
    100%

There is no greater gratification in sport than to see your country's flag being upheaved on an international stage, Gold is built on this premise, and it has a palpable high which eventually makes it an entertaining sports drama.Unlike Reema's previous works, Gold is quite bloated, and it follows the formula.Akshay as Tapan Das, the dhoti clad team manager, brings in a great deal of zest, but there was little gravitas in his performance.Reema skillfully surrounds Akshay with organic performers, and they did their part with conviction.Gold is no Chak De India, nonetheless, emotions run high in the film, and it's indeed a worthwhile experience.

    Mulk

    PVR Oberoi, 10:40pm
    60%

Mulk is yet another film which tries to rupture the prejudice that often heralds people's discernment of the Muslim community in our country, and it cleverly throws light on such pertinent issues.Tapsee Pannu performs her role with restraint and nuance, and Rishi Kapoor as the patriarch shows his mettle as a seasoned actor. This Anubhav Sinha film is not a flawless craft, but it's a film that's fitting, thought-provoking and is a decent watch.
