As any Malayalam movie goer expectations were sky high on the movie. Costliest movie ever made. Theme of Odiyan which has all the ingredients required for thriller-action-semi horror movie. Odiyante bheegaradha, black magic ellaam koodi, all viewers expected a movie which we have not seen in recent times in Malayalam.
Coming to the movie. Intro in Varanasi itself gave a hint of what is coming. Below Average Intro Sequence. Anyway never mind, since we have just started and the flash back story is yet to unfold. After the Intro sequence in Varanasi, we come straight to present day Thenkurissi. Long tedious build up Odiyan in front of new generation at Thenkurissi. This build up ends with a challenge between Odiyan and New Gen person. Then the returned Odiyan sees the key characters associated with his flash back. Key among them two ladies - Manju and her blind sister. In betweeen Flashback and one Odi and Fight scene. Fights almost like Puli only. But this fight is the only positive for me in the first half. Pre-Release report suggested some heavy Interval Punch but could not see any punch not only in Interval but in the whole 1st Half.
2nd Half starts of again plainly. Frankly speaking I also forgot what all happened in the initial part of 2nd Half. That much lack of interest in the whole proceeding. 2nd Half lags big time. Ambratti, Odiyan, Andhayaaya pennu, bharthaakanmaar, maranam endhokkeyo sambhavickunnu. Pinne ettavum nalla pattu, totally out of situation-il completely awkward picturization-il varunnu. Fans show allenkil koovi polickum ennu urappulla song sequence. Adhinte idayil eppozho Manju-vinte classic dialogue - Kanji edukkatte Maanikyaa.... Serious situation-il endhu kondu ellaarum chirichu mariyunna dialogue. Angane paranju paranju Climax-il ethum. Bheegram aaya Climax Fight. Ente ponnu Peter anno, ee aalukaal purakil ninnum munpil ninnum okke parakkunnadhu thanneyullo ningade action sequence. Angane mothathil TOTAL DISSAPPOINTMENT.
Odiyan ennu njaan ee padam announce cheyunnadhinu munne kettittilla. Pakshe adhinu sesham pala article-ukalum mattum vaayichu nammude manasil Odiyane kurichu oru impression undaayittondu. Enicku maathram alla, ella prekshakarkkum undaayi kaanum. Black Magic-um, Odi Vidyakalum okke aayi saadhaarana janangale pedippickunna oru kadhaapaathram. Bheegaratha prakadam aakunna oru kadhaapaathram. Pakshe ee cinemayil evideyum thanne aa oru bheegaradha prakadam aayittilla. Just opposite premichu nadakkunna nishkalankan aaya oru Odiyan. Basic characterization thanne ambe paali.

Direction - Endhiro endho. Ente ponnu Sreekumar anno, dhayavu cheyidhu Randamoozham edukkarudhe....
Script - As told before Black Magic,Odiyante bheegaratha onnum thanne script-il kondu vannittilla. Script is nothing but age old triangle love story and a revenge associated with it.
Performance - Artificial to the core. Everybody's performence. Mohanlal, Manju, Prakash Raj - Everybody I felt as artificial to the core. Comparitively aged Mohanlal is better. But there also it is nishkalankal and nirgunan aaya Odiyan.
Overall Summary - Total disspointment. Go and Watch if you want to see a Nishkalankal and Nirgunan aaya Odiyan. Can never tell Premichum konjiyum nadakkunna Kochunni-ye vijayippicha naadaayadhu kondu, idhum average colxn eduthaal surprised aakenda.

Ee padathinu vendiyalle evidennokkeyo aale kondu vannu Annante weight okke kurachadhu. Cinema-yil evideyum idhonnum kandilla. Ini fight scenes-il ketti pokkumbol risk kurackaan vendi maathramaano weight kurackaan paranjadhu. Alla film-inte oru short-ilum annante weight kuranjadhaayi thonniyilla...

This review of fisherman is exactly my view of the movie.....
Second half okke anyyayya lagging and vadham aanu....especially that song of Lal and Manju.. absolute cringe worthy....
Absolute waste of an opportunity....
