Good Review
#Peranbu is everything you hoped to see from The #MahaActor. The buzz has been immense, thanks to those fantastic reviews pouring in for quite a while. The best thing is that even after having such massive expectations , this film does feel worth it!! It can really touch you and hit you hard at some moments and NO, its NOT a sad film where you will end up shedding tears, but a really genuine tale of a caring father and his diferently abled daughter that has everything in it , narrated in a very realistic manner. Massive shout out to Ram for his craft in pulling this off! I really hope he does create films like these often and a selfish wish that Mammootty gets to enact evan more of those fantastic Ram creations!! #Mammookka as #Amudhavan puts in one of his best performances ever, without overdoing anything at all but just behaving like one would in certain situations! The ease with which Mammookka steps into the character and the uniqueness he brings to Amudhavan, or to C.K.Raghavan(Munnariyippu) or to Ahmad Haji(Palermanikyam), etc is just what makes him the FACE OF INDIAN CINEMA!! Sadhna's performance as Pappa is really fantastic and it's up there with the best performances by a child actor. You see #Sadhna in her interviews and you see #Paapa in Peranbu - the transformation she brings to the character is just WOW!! #Anjali Ameer plays a really crucial role in the film and is one of those characters which has the potential to change the views of society on transgenders who are really one of US but more often than not, we are not as considerate as we could. Yuvan's music and Theni Eswar's visuals are marvelous and contributes so much in making Peranbu what it is!! It would be really stupid if people stay away from films like these wondering if this is another slow, art film targetted just for award festivals. There is none of those overly dramatic scenes or extremely slow lethargic narration but just expect some slowness the situation demands. Overall, Peranbu is a modern day classic where Mammootty gets one of the finest and definitely the BOLDEST role he has portrayed.
A word to those modern day Malayalam filmmakers, when are you going to make use of this version of extremely talented actor in #Mammootty?? It is just sad that the closest any filmmaker from Malayalam that came to challenging the actor in Mammootty since 2011 was Venu(#Munnaruyippu), Salim Ahmad(#Pathemari, Kunjananthante Kada).
Really hoping to see more of such meaty characters from THE BEST INDIAN ACTOR!!
