Even before the movie release kind of had an idea on what to expect from this movie. A low profile release without much pre-release marketing actually gave some hope on the movie. Also the makers and then we know how Mam will perform in such genuine attemps. So with all these had good expectations. Makers were able to live up to those expectations and probably above that.


Coming to the movie as all of us know the story is about a group of police officers who are on deputation to Chattisgarh for Election Duty. Movie is a journey through there 5 days life during this deputation. Movie touches upon the limited facilities our force have and at the same time the need to perform duty in some dangerous terrain. Movie also touches upon the lower caste higher caste thoughts still prevalent in some minds. And also on the very sensitive thought of who are the real owners of these lands which are being encroached by citizens.


The life of our Police Force is shown in its true colour without any glorification. Our movies either shows a Glorified Police Force or Villanious Police Force. Also if you really think our Policemen are always in the line of duty which turns dangerous at various times, but they never get there due recognition. Our Defence forces always gets recognition for everything they do. Even our Police force is day and night working to ensure our safety but they always goes through heavy scrutiny by our politicians, media etc. Nobody really cares about there hardships in the background and the effort they put in. This movie throws some light on the same.


Coming to the performance Mam and all other stars are just awesome. Even the Tribal person who has played a small role. Superb and realistic performance. There are several instances which brings smile to our faces and several situations where you feel sorry for the characters. All ligher emotions and not heavy.

Direction, Script
Mammootty and others - Performance. All are excellent.
Cinematography
BGM Score which blends well with the Realistic presentation of the movie.


Negatives
Doubtful on how well it might work with families. Not kid's cup of tea.


Overall Summary - A realistic cop story which holds a mirror to our society and our force.


Crowd Response
Good Claps at climax and good response for some situational comedies and solid performances.

Tail End: Malayalam Cinema is back to where it belongs. Ishq, Thamasa, Virus and now Unda. We are in a continuos streak giving Quality movies and turning it into Hits. After the Vishu season which gave two Mass Hits now is the time for Class Hits. And proud that Ikka is part of both.

Ikka - Peranbu, Yathra, MadhuraRaja and now Unda... What a transformation cutting across language barriers
