Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)
A thoughtful spectacle that defies genre conventions.
An uncommon comic book film that transcends its label, Wakanda Forever serves as a fantastic and fitting tribute to Marvel's celebrated character. Sure, it has its flaws. Running for two hours and forty one minutes, the film ovestays its welcome. And, it's overly ambitious in some areas. The abundance of story, characters, and world-building can be overwhelming, but Coogler's craft makes it all work. His tone remains intensely serious and his characters are broken and struggling.
This is the film fans have been waiting for, the antidote to the noisy, messy superhero films of the year. An emotionally rewarding triumph, Wakanda Forever stands out from a somewhat formulaic era of Marvel movies.

Expecting to end up somewhere in the 800 mil range between Thor L&T& Multiverse of Madness.
No way this is going to cross original Black Panther WW(Avatar coming to cut it's legs and probably no China release too) or Top gun Maverick's domestic run.....

Disney/Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever got out to a $10.1M start in 17 international box office markets on Wednesday. This is ahead of continued offshore rollout through Friday and the sequel’s domestic debut on Friday (domestic previews start Thursday)- Deadline Reports.

How long has it been since a superhero film had build its stakes inexplicably well that when even the tiniest hint of the suit showed up, you screamed at the top of your lungs? Wakanda Forever does that to you.
Wakanda Forever is the best possible tribute to Chadwick Boseman; it stays true to the character, the legacy and the franchise. Coogler manages to do the impossible and makes a successful sequel even after the king's unfortunate absence. The film, as expected, has an emotional layer wrapped around it and themes of grief and loss are interwoven coherently throughout. The focus was more on poignant storytelling rather than set pieces and that, to be honest, felt like a sensible choice to me. The antagonist, Namor, and his world is build effectively, enough for you to feel for him and consider his intentions justified. At the same time, you do feel the threat and you do yearn for him to be taken down. The visuals do standout for an MCU film, and much like its predecessor, the score is a beauty in itself. It is a tad bit long, occassionally has questionable cut points and too short a finale face-off, but I'll take those anyday instead of the corporate craps they call superhero films now.
Wakanda Forever is a king-sized comeback for MCU. There hasn't been an MCU film that felt this good anytime recently and I doubt there will be any in the near future.
