Hollywood il star system is dead. No one even gives a fudge abt them. I think athletes and musicians have more star value then movie stars.
Stars from the 90s such as Leo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt are the last of their kind.
in way it's good- power goes back to the producers, directors and writers. everything will be based on the content now... creators will come up with a story/content and hire the right actors for the part (due to lack of importance on star value)

Superstardom is dictated by actors who are able to reinvent themselves with the times, something both big Ms has done time and again.
In their prime the likes of SG, Jayaram, Dileep etc were bigger boxoffice draws than the big Ms. But they simply confined themselves to a box and were never able to reinvent themselves with the times. Simply look at Dileep's recent projects My Santa, Adv, Kesu, Dinkan etc.. there is no novelty here.
Big Ms adapt with the times, pairing with new younger filmmakers etc. That's the success of their longevity.
So future stardom depends on how actors like Fahad, Prithvi, DQ, Tovino, Nivin etc. adapt with the times.
Big Ms always had a bunch of makers in their kitty.....makers of all category......more over they are highly talented.....one thing you said is right....both of them took movies that reinvented their skills at times. Probably they may be the last of a Kind .
