Pathaan Takes Historic Opening Overseas

Pathaan has taken an historic opening overseas as all records look like being smashed over the next five days. The advances started early in overseas as compared to India and were pretty much historic but eventually the its a Wednesday release and business in the western markets is not optimum.

The first numbers coming in are simply historic with business in Australia coming to close its looking like an insane $600k and this is on a Wednesday with no holiday in sight. There was trepidation about the Gulf market as this has been awful post the pandemic but the opening is fantastic and Shahrukh Khan has bought this market alive again.

Shahrukh Khan is the biggest Indian film star ever seen in overseas and this is pretty much indisputable and he has had sub par movies over the last few years but they have still recorded HIT numbers and now here comes a much better product so there is a good chance that the overseas market can be pushed to another level.The five days are going to be another level and even with a Wednesday release the film could show record collections over the first three days. The wait is for the Gulf numbers and if that goes back to pre pandemic numbers then the film can target the numbers of the likes Dangal and Padmaavat and become the biggest film ever in overseas in original format.
