Let's go through traditional 3 act structure :
1st act - introduction of characters, setup of conflict.
2nd act - Confrontation, failure and lowest point of hero, villain at the top.
3rd act - Rise of the hero, climax & conclusion, hero wins against the odds, villain defeated, hero gets the girl.
By the end of 2nd act, hero should fail at achieving his goals... The opposition, villains, circumstances are so against him...
And that sets up his rise in the final act.
PROBLEM OF BHEESHMA :
Here in Bheeshma, the lowest point of Michael - the fatal injury- happens only in the concluding act (3rd act).
So his rise and revenge in the final 25 min is rushed through very lazy writing..
Or else Amal should have increased the running time to around 3 hr but it would resulted in bloated pacing....
Solution -
They could have fixed this by building up Rajan from the start itself - cut the whole Rathipushpam & akasham song.
Cut the whole Alice - Michael side plot.
Leave this space to Rajan & his backstory.
Rajan should have striked Michael (leaving him near death) BY INTERMISSION (middle or end of 2nd act) itself.
By doing that you will have more time for Michael to rise in 3rd act.
Thus you get time for a better revenge plan and also you will get a very strong Villain.
This is the main reason why there is no punch in the ending..
Bheeshma started very strong but fizzled out like a wet cracker by the last act.
Tony Sayipp is a better villain in a sense. He killed Mary teacher, killed ACP, controls Mayor, kills Bijo.. He has done all this from behind the scenes.
A meticulously planned operation, aimed to check the teacher's intrusions into unlawful exporting of children from Kochi.
This level of competence is not shown by Rajan. He is not that cunning as Angoor Ravuther & not as confident as Tony.
Rajan is just... there..looking like a rampwalk model and not at all threatening to anyone.
