Kannada cinema is doing pretty well. Brilliant movies lately. Post covid they realized their value.
Watched it yesterday.. this s classic.. people from Dakshina Kannada district will love it more than others.. people were bored of watching old Mysore region stories and this s like a breath of fresh air.. people in Karnataka doesn't know much about Tulu Nadu and it's traditions, culture, folk stories and this s like something they never witnessed onscreen.. even the Mangalorean Kannada dialect s perfect and most actors are from coastal districts..Rishab lived the character.. dependable Achyuth Kumar s like Morgan Freeman of KFI.🙏

Enikum kannada vasham illayirunnu ..but when I saw 4-5 films able to understand the language ...
Shetty gangs films is more likely malayalam films and malayalees can connect their films more than Tamil and Telugu people . As you mentioned their films are rooted in dakshina Kannada , Mangalore there are lot of common factors .
