Gautham denies VTV- 2! Calls it just an idea!

The news about a sequel to Gautham Menon's STR-Trisha romantic musical Vinnayithandi Varuvaaya, has been making the rounds.

Now Gautham Menon himself has come out with a denial!

Some in the media even came out with the "story of the sequel" and said that Amy Jackson will play the heroine in the film.

STR has been quoted as saying "While I will be playing Karthi again, this time Amy Jackson will play the female lead."

Simbu's statements regarding VTV 2 have obviously peeved Gautham Menon. The noted director has issued a clarification through his publicist.

The press statement says- " VTV 2 is not confirmed. Reports about the film starting in November 2011 are not true. I am talking to STR for a project in June 2012. Amy Jackson is not on board the project as yet. The script, the cast and crew have not been finalized. VTV 2 was just an idea we spoke about but I haven't decided as yet if that's what we will be filming."

    VTV Ganesh in Osthi!

Ever since VTV Ganesh stole the show playing STR's friend and mentor in Gautham Menon's Vinnayithandi Varuvayaa, he has become a regular in Silambarasan camp.

He played the role of STR's uncle and confidante in Vaanam.

Ganesh is now going to do Dharani directed Osthi, once again a STR film.

In this remake of Dabangg, Ganesh will be playing the drunken father of the heroine Richa.

Please note the same role was done by Mahesh Manjerekar in the original and it was one of the highlights of film.

Ganesh's "drunken act" including his scenes with the cop played by Simbu will form the comedy track in the film.

Ganesh and STR comedy scenes are now being reworked by the director, to suit the Tamil audiences.

    Better luck next time Jayendra!

Jayendra is known for his smart ad films which take the nation by storm.

But his directorial debut Nootrienbathu(180), though visually stunning, did not make any impact among the audiences and critics due to a flawed screenplay, slow narration and a lame climax.

You can have an interesting script on paper but it needs to translate.

All that the audience want is slick presentation and a bit of logic in the story.

His protagonist Dr Ajay Kumar is a contrived character who runs away during a crisis, till the end.

Jayendra seem to be highly influenced by Mani Ratnam the master of eloquence, drama and urban romances as seen in the first half of 180.

But sadly, the romance between Ajay played by Siddharth and two leading ladies was lifeless, flat and unconvincing.

Sify tip - Love stories need to be told differently. Cliched and predictable romances need to be junked and new one discovered.

Linguswamy is planning real big for his forthcoming venture 'Vettai'. The director, who is also producing the Arya-Madhavan starrer, has decided to release the movie simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi as well!
"Vettai is my best commercial film ever, as it brings together best talents in the industry. I am joining hands with Nirav Shah after Sandakozhi and with Yuvan Shankar Raja after Paiyaa," he says.
Heaping praises on the lead actors, the director-producer says, "Madhavan and Arya are giving their best to each and every scene. Not far behind are Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul. The beautiful ladies are adding immense value to the film."
"Vettai is a story of two brothers (Madhavan - Arya) and two sisters (Sameera Reddy - Amala Paul). It is an action-packed entertainer with equal importance for family values and romance. Brinda Sarathy has penned dialogues," Linguswamy signs off.
