Monica, O My Darling (Netflix | 2022)
It is an honourable mess.
Vasan Bala's pitch-black satire of class warfare doesn't always hit the mark, but it's got enough manic comic energy to warrant a spin. Monica, O My Darling is pitched squarely as a chaotic black comedy of errors, but the uneven narrative, especially, an underwhelming final act, reduces the impact.
Watchable as ever, Rajkumar Rao and Radhika Apte provide two hilarious performances that should keep the audience entertained. You'll definitely enjoy this film if you like your humour black and bloody.
