Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo music rights sold for 17 crore rupees

Salman Khan is having a great year starting with the record breaking success of Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He had a blast during Ganesh Chaturthi followed by the Ganesh Visarjan festivities and shortly after got to know that his sister Arpita Khan is expecting her first child. The good news just keeps on rolling for Salman Khan in 2015 as the latest news is the successful and extremely profitable anticipatory sale of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’s music rights for INR 17 crore.
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is being touted as one of the most anticipated films starring Salman Khan. The film reunites him with Sooraj Barjatya and we will watch Salman on the big screen in this film. The last time Salman Khan worked with Sooraj Barjatya was 16 years ago for Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999).
We are still waiting for some kind of official declaration on the exact amount of the sale of music rights but given the way Salman Khan is going, we are not surprised that the numbers are beyond conventional standards. If the 17 crore rupees deal is accurate than it will be the biggest music rights deal in Bollywood history. The films also stars Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Anupam Kher among others. Pre m Ratan Dhan Payo is slated for a release in November 2015.

Salman Khan Tops Overseas Rankings For First Time !

Salman Khan has become the top ranking star in Overseas since the start of Box Office India rankings in late 2010 due to the initial of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. The huge initials of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo have been seen Salman Khan make a huge leap in the Overseas market. The rankings for Overseas box office power in December 2015 is as follows.

1. Salman Khan - 1278 points
2. Aamir Khan - 1018 points
3. Shahrukh Khan - 812 points
4. Hrithik Roshan - 364 points

The above four are the only real stars left in the Overseas market. Till date the Overseas charts have been mainly dominated by Shahrukh Khan with Aamir Khan taking over intermittently but never really having a follow up film to sustain. The Salman Khan lead may not last long as Dilwale will come into play next month but still it will be very close as its a 400 point plus lead for Salman Khan.

Is AR Murugadoss writing a script solely for Salman Khan?

About four months ago, there was strong buzz about Salman Khan being approached for AR Murugadoss' next, after the filmmaker tweeted apicture of them engrossed in a discussion, apparently for the Hindi remake of his Tamil superhit flick 'Kaththi'. The rumours have been put to rest with Akshay Kumar confirming his presence in that film titled 'Ikka'. However, our sources maintain that a project with Salman is definitely on the cards.



"Murugadoss is working on another script for Salman. The star is extremely eager to work with him. The film is likely to go on floors in the second half of 2016 and will be produced by Atul Agnihotri, Salman's brother-in-law," says a source.

Salman remained unavailable for comment. Thestar has worked in the Hindi remake of nearly a dozen South Indian films. The director, whose next Bollywood outing is Sonakshi Sinha-starrer 'Akira', has already remade two of his films in Hindi — 'Ghajini' with Aamir Khan and 'Holiday' ('Thuppakki') with Akshay.

Meanwhile, Akshay has said he will, in all probability, begin shooting for 'Ikka' after wrapping up 'Rustom', 'Robot 2' and 'Namastey England'. However, Murugadoss won't be helming it; the film will be directed by his associate, Jagan Shakti.
