Ivory Coast & Ghana are very good teams , but both are in group of death especially the star studded Ivory Coast. World Cup is such a big stage that some surprise teams in the earlier stages will crash later , that is the history with very few exceptions....later stage's il THARAVAADIKAL thanne ethum ..with the exception of media hyped ENGLAND. If Ivory Coast been in any other group they might have reached to the later stages....Portugal v Ivory Coast will be the game of the group stages.

recent perfomance of Ivory coast does not give any hope..They played horribly in the African Nations cup recently..They had to fire their coach..And the new Coach doesn't have enough time to prepare them for WC..
Only positive thing await them is the home feild advantage of Africa..
If we go by recent form IC does not give much hope....In 2006 they were good.Argentinaye okke virappichittaanu avanmaar madaniyathu. But they are not half as good as 2006 now...

GHANA has good recent run of form..so GHANA has betetr chance...

I think Ivory Coast have better players than GHANA , but they are not playing as a unit and hope SGE can solve the issue , they can cope the abscence of Drogba ( if he is not fit ) but GHANA without Essien ( heard that he may not be fit in time for WC , don't know the extent of injury ) ..with Inter's Sulley Muntari also not in good form....and moreover they are also in a group of Death 2.....Germany/Serbia/Australia...mmm..have to wait and see.

I just mentioned some recent games especially after 2003/04.

1998-99 was a season of season in all aspects , no one can match that and will not be in future too..it was that kind of a season....Not only winning the treble ...but all in fairytale manner....
Beating the likes of Liverpool/Chelsea/Arsenal & Newcastle to win the FA Cup....Liverpool scored in the second minute at Old Trafford through Owen , United equalized in the 88th minute & won the game in Injury time...against Arsenal the historic FA Cup Semi Final , one of the all time FA Cup matches...United take the lead through Beckam , Bergkamp equalized , Roy Keane Sent-Off , Bergkamp's penalty saved by the great dane Schmeichel ....then Ryan Gigg's wonder goal in extra time....ROMANJAM ROMANJAM......
Leeds Utd beat Arsenal on the penultimate Week of the Premier League , that turned the title in United's favor ....on the final day UTD needed nothing short of a Victory against very good Tottenham side....Tottenham scored first at Old Trafford....at that time Arsenal were leading against Villa ...at this stage Arsenal were leading the table...but UTD scored twice and won the match & title on the final day....again ROMANJAM ROMANJAM.....
Then come's the Champions League ....qualified as runners-up from a group containts Barcelona & Bayern Munich , both games ( Old Trafford/Nou Camp) ended (3-3)...get pass star studded Inter in the QF , then Zidane/Inzaghi's Juventus in the SF ....then BAYERN in the Final.....fairytale ending to a fairytale season...NO ONE CAN MATCH THIS....

    NOSTALGIA
What a recap... that was one season of fairytale realized by a group of homegrown players... Just incredible season that has got no parallels in recent memory..

Note denying the play act. but its very clear that Motta looked back before plunging his hands. Spreading the arm is legal, but trying to hit the face is not. The incident need not be nasty in order to give the marching orders, the intention is what that counts. And more over, Motta was extremely foolish to do that because he was only cautioned a few minutes earlier. A yellow card was the least that it asked for and he was truly send off.

    2. That Ball clearly hit the hand. There is no doubt about it.What about the PIQUE goal..It looked like offside. But someone said Muntari played him onside , but I diddn't see Muntari anywhere ..I have to see it again from another angle..
Dont be stupid. It did hit the hand. But the law says a hadn ball can only be give, if the player intentionally tryies to do it or even if he spreads his hand while trying to block the ball. In this case, Toure was folding his hands towards his stomach and no man his sense would say that it was a hand ball. The goal was legal and barca were robbed of it.. Period!

Milito's goal in the first leg was clear off-side. And Pique was on-side too, for that matter.

    3. What do you expect. This game was played in 2 legs.Inter won the game with good tactics and distroyed barca in the first leg 3-1. Do you think antifootball was there in that result.
In the second leg down to 10 men in the 28th minute against arguably best Barca of all time ..what do you think Mourinho should have done? I must say the game showed the beuty of defence ..It was a master class perfomance of defensive skill. It's not easy to defend against a team like Barca with 10 men.It needs lots of practise .Co ordination on the pitch and concentration.I fyou look at the Barca goal it's the substitutes mistake which led to the Barca Goal..It's been said that Muntari played Pique onside ..and Cordoba unnecessarly lunged infront of Pique whwn Julio cesar allready fell infront and blocked that path.Cordoba should have stayed on his foot..So the substitues were not on the same page as the starting 11.
Inter is not any 2nd tier team to play in that manner. They are a champion side and need to be positive. And since Barca plays football as it should be played, it is not a license to criticise them if they couldn't find a way through the parked bus. Its like taken for granted that, "Barca has to play good footbal irrespective of conditions and the opposition's main job is to only deny them exactly that".. I heard some saying Barca didn't deserve to go through.. Why??? Inter were not playing football, they were only trying to make Barca not play..

I think Mourinho had made his players practise this over and over again.Otherwise such a masterfull defensive display is not possible. And they did not man mark.they absorbed teh preassure...LUCIO and Cambiaso were exceptionaly brilliant...
Mourinho will be hailed because the result went for him.. If only Inter had lost, the comments would have been harsh..

That's what I said , they are the defending Serie A Champions for years now. 99% of the Media hailed Inter's defensive master class. Whether its home/away Barca always attack , the same they had done in San Siro too but caught out in Counter-Attacks. Everybody knows that attacking Barca may be suicidal , look at the Villarreal match yesterday , the match was played at a blitzering pace , that suits both and especially Barca. JOSE MOURINHO & INTER SPREADED A WRONG MESSAGE ACROSS EUROPE.

Premier League title race will be decided today , If Chelsea wins at Anfield its all over. Liverpool will be affected by fatigue because of their Europa league match against At Madrid that went in to Extra-time , with out Torres , it will be very difficult for Liverpool to get anything from this game. Chelsea's performance against ManU/Arsenal & Liverpool has been excellent this season , they beat ManU/Arsenal both home and away , beat Liverpool at Stamford Bridge , this one left ..Omens are not good.Meanwhile SAF said ..LIVERPOOL HAVE TOO MUCH TRADITION TO LOSE DELIBARATELY AGAINST CHELSEA....

ATHINTE AAVASHYAM UNDAAKUM ENNU THONNUNNILLA...MALOUDA & CO WILL TEAR THEM.
