The Club World Cup title goes to South America for the first time since 2006 and nobody could argue that the Brazilian side did not deserve it on the day. Chelsea had the opportunities but they failed to take them and it's delight for Corinthians who win the final in Japan
Corinthians coach Tite paid tribute to the efforts of his side, adding that lifting the trophy was a sign of the importance of teamwork in modern football.
"There are many elements in a victory, but the main ones were teamwork and support," he added.
"Corinthians winning this cup teaches us an important lesson: football teams are more important than individual talent. Even if you have a lot of talent, teamwork is more important, just running more, doing more, defending more, co-operating. This is what we do at Corinthians."
