Panel is LCD even if the name says LED. in LCD CFL is used for backlight and in 'LED' it is LED. if you browse Sony site, you can't see a LED category ,only LCD . NOTE THE POINT.

No clue abt Plasma..

Buy 46 if your viewing distance is around 15 ft buy 46" ... else 40".. if distance is less than 10 ft, better to go for 32"
