Fahadh Faasil, Soubin Shahir start shooting for Irul
Fahadh Faasil, Soubin Shahir and Darshana Rajendran are teaming up for debutant director Naseef Yousuf Izuddin’s Irul. The team commenced the shoot of the film in Kuttikanam on Wednesday.
A source from the team tells us, “The team will be shooting for 30 days straight for the film and most of the movie is set indoors. The entire shoot will adhere to the Covid-19 protocols.” On the first day, the photos had all the crew wearing disposable masks, face shields and gear.
The movie is produced by Anto Joseph along with Plan J Studios, which had earlier backed the superhit Thaneer Mathan Dinangal. Acclaimed cinematographer Jomon T John will crank the camera for the film and Badusha is the project designer. Naseef had earlier worked in several Bollywood productions like Kai Po Che, Happy New Year, Raees, Newtom and Tumbbad.
This is Fahadh and Darshana’s second film after the lockdown. Soubin was wrapping up his portions for Sidharth Bharathan’s Djinn prior to the lockdown. Darshana was shooting for Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Hridayam, which also has Pranav Mohanlal and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead, when the lockdown was announced.
Meanwhile, Fahadh had completed his portions for Mahesh Narayanan’s Malik, which was also produced by Anto Joseph. The movie, which was supposed to release in April, has been pushed due to the pandemic. Fahadh had shed a lot of weight to play the character in the film, which has him in three get-ups. Vinay Forrt, Joju George and Nimisha Sajayan play the other important characters in Malik, which has finished its post-production.
