You understand what he meant very well. Festival movie means a movie which is meant only to entertain and not brooding movies.

But sadly here Ittimani failed in all departments(strictly my opinion). But I liked LAD to a certain extent. Its a colourful movie which is meant for festival season itself and it is a watchable entertainer.

Obviously this person who wrote the review wouldn't have gone to the theater expecting an art house film....point is entertainer tagil varunna cinemakalilum aswadhikan pattanam ennu vichaarikunathu oru thettu alla.
you can't blame a viewer for expecting some decent quality from films
