Nokia 7 plus with 6-inch 18:9 display and Snapdragon 660 announced
The Nokia 7 Plus from HMD Global has been much talked about amidst a number of leaks and speculations. Today, the brand took to stage at its pre-MWC event to go ahead and finally launch the handset globally. Notably, the device comes with a nearly bezel-less 18:9 display and is also part of the Android One program. The Nokia 7 Plus comes with a unibody design and features dual-tone colour schemes. The unibody chassis of the handset has been crafted from a mix of metal and ceramic, with the latter being used in the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as well. The device will also get a face unlock feature via an OTA update in Q2 of this year. The 6-inch full HD+ display come with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass on top for protection and has minimal bezels on all four sides. In the performance department, the device gets a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, aided by an Adreno 512 GPU. The processor has been mated to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, which can be further expanded using the microSD card slot.
Moving on to the imaging department, the Nokia 7 Plus flaunts a dual camera module on the rear panel comprising of a 12MP + 13MP sensor with Zeiss Optics and 2X optical zoom. The camera on the handset flaunts features like Nokia’s Bothie mode and 2X optical zoom. For selfies and video calling, users get a 16-megapixel shooter with Zeiss optics. The handset is powered by a 3,800mAh battery with fast charging support and runs Android Oreo out of the box. The connectivity features include 4G LTE, USB Type-C, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and A-GPS.
HMD Global is offering the Nokia 7 Plus in two hues – Black Copper and White Copper. The phone has been launched with a price tag of €399 (~Rs 31,750) and will go on sale in India in April/May this year.
