How to cook a Hollywoodistic movie from Indian Cinema ?
First Rule: The film must be shot in foreign country ! Why not in India? "Then it will be an Indian film"
Second Rule: The theme must be revenge ! Why not feelgood? "Mammootty don't have date for 5 years"
Third Rule: The hero must talk only in Oxford English, even if he don't have a clue of what he is saying !
Fourth Rule: Few stylish shots in every scene, even if it is irrelevant to the scenario
Fifth Rule: SNAIL is our national animal !!!!
If you follow these five rules then you are all set to make your Hollywoodistic Indian film, but only you will call it Hollywood, the audience won't....
Adam Joan follows the same pattern where the director gave more attention and importance to stylish shots, but if it was given to the screenplay, would have got a John Wick for Mollywood, ends up as a waste attempt. Prithviraj delivered a good performance because his character was well written with the right amount of scenes to portray his emotions, and he successfully conveyed it to the audience, but the stylistic content of his character was bit exaggerated and became unnatural in most of the scenes. The cinematographer deserves a special applause for making the audiences engaged to the screen with his fascinating visuals, especially in the scenes which tested the patience of the viewers. Adam Joan can be watched for the performance of Prithviraj, and the beauty of Scotland, but is that enough to bring the audience to theaters, NO, the script and direction stink. In simpler words, Adam Joan falls under the category of a cinematic mishap happened because of the captains of the ship.
Verdict: Boring (2/5)
There were no comedy scenes in the movie, but there were a ton outside the theater in the shape of flex boards. Youth Icon Prithviraj.....Lol, Can't stop laughing...I am pretty sure the guys who put it there belong to the age group of Prithviraj, and by calling him Youth Icon, those uncles are establishing themselves as youths....Prithviraj is no more youth dammit....pans please come out to reality.
