Google announces Hangouts update, adds the much-desired status availability
Google has announced an update to Hangouts, its instant messaging app for Android devices. This update brings the much-desired status availability feature on the Google Hangouts app. Users have been missing this feature on the Hangouts app since Google replaced the Google Talk app on Android devices with the Google Hangouts app a couple of months back.
Now it is easy to distinguish between online and offline users on Hangouts. "Green icons mean they are, and grey icons mean they aren't," said Randall Sarafa, spokesman, Google, in a blog post on Google+. Google has started rolling out the update and the new version is expected to be available to users over the next few days.
There are other new features that will be available to users with the new version. From top to bottom users will get to see 'People you Hangout with', 'Suggested People', and 'Other Contacts'. Hangout invites are now located above conversations. The new verison will now allow users to hide people from the New Hangout screen by pressing their name for a few seconds and touching 'Hide contact.'

The phone also packs Android 4.2,5MP rear camera, VGA front camera, 3G and the usual connectivity options. It is the most expensive phone out of the four released today and has been priced at INR 15,999.
Next, Lenovo A516 comes with 4.5-inch IPS display, 1.3GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.2, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage and microSD card slot. The phone also features 5MP rear camera and VGA front camera. It has been priced at INR 10,999 and offers up to 23 hours of talk-time.

Price Drop: Nexus 7 Price Cut To Rs 9,999 while iPhone 4 Retailing At Rs 21,500
Google's Nexus 7 has received a price cut in India from a popular online retailer. The 16 GB variant of the tablet, which was previously costing Rs. 15,999, is now available for just Rs. 9999. The 32GB variant, which cost Rs. 18,999 is now available for Rs. 13,499. These new rates are being offered by online retailer, Flipkart.
Gizbot believes that the price drop is an indication that Google is trying to clear stocks of the Nexus 7 (2012 version) so that it can launch its predecessor, the Nexus 7 (2013 version) which came out a few months earlier in international markets.
Google rolled out the new Nexus 7 (2013) tablet running Android 4.3 earlier in July this year. Currently, the device is now available in several countries. However, Google has refrained form announcing the dates of the new tablet in India. We believe that an announcement is around the corner and that the new slate will hit store shelves in time for the upcoming festive season.
The original Nexus 7 tablet uses an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor (1.3GHz). It has a 7-inch IPS display screen (1280x800 pixels resolution) along with 1GB RAM, a 1.2 megapixel front facing camera and a sizeable 4325mAh battery.
Apart form this, there have also been price cuts on Apple's iPhone 4 from several retailers. You can pick up the 8GB variant for Rs 21,500 via online retailers. This handset's official price tag is Rs 26,500. The 16GB model, which is officially priced at Rs 31,500, can now be picked up for Rs 25,000.
However, you should know that Apple no longer lists the iPhone 4 on its official India website. During the recent iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C launch event, the Cupertino based tech giant announced that it will discontinue iPhone 4, a phone that came out three years ago.
After testing Apple's latest mobile OS update on the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, we've concluded that the two phones aren't fast enough to handle iOS 7. So if you do buy the discounted iPhone 4, do not expect iOS 7 to run on its smoothly. But if you're content with iOS 6, then the iPhone 4 is a good buy at the new prices.
Nokia Lumia Amber update for Lumia 520 isn't working well as many customers are mainly complaining about these things:
No FM.
No 'flip to silence' option.
