6 February 2008 (Sawf News) - Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are Bollywood's most popular male actors. Their combined fan following includes almost everyone who watches Bollywood films. A film starring the two Khans is bound to be very popular, just as a story that reports that such a film maybe in the offing!
The two Khans, who last appeared together in the 1994 blockbuster Karan Arjun, produced and directed by Rakesh Roshan, discussed the possibility of treating their fans to a joint screen appearance during a New Year Eve bash hosted by Amrita Arora, reports Mumbai Mirror.
Salman's younger brother Sohail Khan already has the script ready for the film that will be based on Jerry Maguire (1996) in which Tom Cruise played a sports agent who loses his job when he attempts to buck the system. Cuba Gooding Junior played an egomaniacal football player who sticks with the agent as the agent attempts to resurrect his career on his own terms.
The sports theme is sure to have stirred Shah Rukh's interest in the project.
In the proposed film Salman will essay the football player's role and Shah Rukh will play the sports agent.
Sohail is reported to have sought UTV backing for the project, which in turn is waiting for a nod from Shah Rukh.
