lots of youth members of syrian christian churches, who are staying away from their parents, are turning to independent congregations. they prefer the song-and-worship of these new gen groups rather than the centuries old syriac-laced laity worship that involves words that resonate no meaning to them. so, apostolic churches, which you have mentioned above, are dwindling in population. just visit places like maramon, kumbanad, thiruvalla, these places that once boasted of being the seat of Christianity in kerala, there you have churches of independent congregation in every nook and corner. what they do to grow is, they lure members of established churches. to make up for that, the established churches inturn send their missionaries/evangelists to the impoverished places in Andhra, Bihar and Orissa. they build schools, they build tuition centres, they provide them food and medicine, they provide them self-sufficent jobs and finally they build a small chapel and tell them to come in the evening to worship. in 4-5 years, the chapel will enlarge itself into a church. Bishop KP Yohannan of Believers Church has a major chunk of his church members from the north-east. so, jesus must have said a lot of things in the bible, but unfortunately, most of what he has said has been lost out on his so-called disciples.
