I'm so surprised that sucha a good player was treated this way by Villareal...and there were not many clubs intrested in signing the palyer.. :?

No !!! lot many big clubs were interested him !!! but he want to remain in a small club !!1 that was the fact !!! madrid and manchester came knocking after the WC but he prefered to stay at villareal !!! this year tottenham was again interested !!!
i guess he has some family problems !! remeber reading somewhere that he is going to retire from internationals as his mother is sick and he need to spend more time with mom !!1 so being in Argentine club he can be with his family as well !!!

It takes guts and desire to say NO to money.. He wud have been offered a good paycheck any day at Spurs.. But he declined it for his love of playing for his country.. He was ready to eschew the money Villareal owed him... U cant find many portsmen who wud do such things these days..
