Kollywood's Cop Connections

There was once a time, when every new film necessarily
had to have the hero playing the good cop, literally. In
accordance with history repeating itself, seems like the
trend is coming back to Kollywood now, with top heroes of
the industry playing the police role in their movies. After
director Hari's 'Singam 2', where Suriya acted in khaki, we
now hear that Thala Ajith and Ilayathalapathy Vijay are also
playing cop roles in their upcoming films. Though the
respective movie units remained tight lipped about the
news, sources close to the actors spilled the beans
recently.
After his role in khaki in 'Mankaatha', Ajith is playing the
role of a cop in Vishnuvardhan's next too; according to the
source, he will be seen donning the police hat only off and
on, to bridge the story. Vijay will be acting in khaki in
director Nesan's 'Jilla'; a setting of felicitation show,
involving a lot of junior artistes in police uniform, was shot
recently in the city, and Vijay joined the crowd for his role,
on the last couple of days.
