Ajith's #Arrambam vs Hrithik's #Krrish 3 Race for Theatre
Bookings Begins in Kerala
It is well known that Ajith's film "Arrambam" is all set to hit
screens on Diwali. With just 35 days left for the festival, the
makers of "Arrambam" have started booking theatres for the
film.
It will be a big battle to get screens as two other Tamil films
are reportedly releasing on the same day. Moreover, Hrithik
Roshan's much-awaited Hindi film "Krrish 3" is set to release
on Diwali. It was earlier reported that "Krrish 3" makers have
already begun booking screens in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
After the stupendous success of "Chennai Express", theatre
owners in Tamil Nadu and Kerala are enthusiastic about
"Krrish 3", a superhero flick which is reportedly made on a
budget of around ₹90 crore. In the Tamil Nadu-Kerala region,
"Chennai Express" became the highest-grossing Hindi film
raking in approximately ₹8.55 crore.
Theatre owners believe that "Krrish 3" also has scope to
perform well in these southern states. Besides Tamil Nadu,
the Hrithik starrer has to battle it out with Ajith's "Arrambam"
to get enough number of screens in Kerala, according to
senior film journalist Sreedhar Pillai.
"The Diwali theatre booking race has started in Kerala
between #Arrambam & #Krrish3 for screens," Sreedhar
tweeted.
Ajith enjoys a massive fan base in Tamil Nadu, but the actor
does not have a big following in Kerala. But his film
"Mankatha" was a hit in the state. His upcoming film
"Arrambam" also has huge expectations, as Ajith is teaming
up once again with Vishnu Vardhan. The theatrical rights for
the film are fetching whopping amounts. The film was sold
for a huge sum of ₹6.9 crore to leading distributor Cosmo
Shiva for areas including Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Ooty and
Erode. The film's Kerala theatrical rights have been purchased
for ₹1.45 crore.
However, it remains to be seen if "Arrambam" will get more
number of screens than "Krrish 3." In August, Tamil actor
Vijay's "Thalaivaa" hit Kerala theatres along with "Chennai
Express." While "Thalaivaa" was released in 120 screens,
"Chennai Express" was shown in 60 screens. It might be the
same case with "Arrambam" and "Krrish 3." One might need
to wait a little longer to get an official confirmation of the
number of theatres booked for each of these films..

Oct 10, 2013

Behindwoods had reported couple of days earlier that Arrambam might release on October 31st, Thursday, believed to be sentimentally a lucky day for the Producer A.M. Ratnam. This would also mean that the movie would take full advantage of the
weekend before Diwali at the Box office.
Now we have got inside information from certain theater
sources that they have been given the nod for October
31st. Plans for special early morning shows between 4am
to 5am for Thala fans are being jotted out. The special
early morning shows, normally a practice confined to
Chennai city is being planned for Arrambam across the
state at places like Coimbatore, Erode, Salem and Tirupur.
So looks like Arrambam is almost confirmed for release on
the 31 st of October. An official statement has still not
been released by the Producer to the press in this regards.
The film is undergoing the final stages of DI at the
moment. Arrambam is one of the most anticipated movies
of recent times.

Ajith's Arrambam and All in Azhagu Raja are the two top
contenders for this year Diwali 2013. After we initially
reported you that both Arrambam and All in Azhagu Raja to
get maximum numbers of theatres in Tamil Nadu, now the
latest is that All in All Azhagu Raja team has issued a
paper ads in all region and for the first time even before the
censor they have even mentioned the number of shows of
All in All Azhagu Raja.
Going by the number the theater count will surely reach
300 for All in All Azhagu Raja. Mean time as reported
earlier Ajith's Arrambam is almost confirmed for 31st
October, sources say that as AM Ratnam is a sincere
devotee of Sai Baba he has chosen the Thursday release.
As usual Ajith's fans are gearing up for early morning
shows and they are eagerly waiting for the film's release
and also the racy trailer gave them a super confidence.
Trade is also sensing a hit from Ajith as they are very much
impressed with the trailer. Arrambam will be having a better
number of screen counts than All in All Azhagu Raja as the
multiplexes will open more shows for Ajith's film as they
can get a bumper opening.
Today Karthi's All in All Azhagu Raja trailer also released
and people like the 80's novel portion which appears to be
super fun. Rajesh's brand comedy will definitely work with
the audience, say a source.
With Arrambam and All in All Azhagu Raja are booking
good number of theatres. Now the big question is will
Pandianadu will get enough theatres? Stay tuned for more
updates....
