Mandhana to open @BeingSalmanKhan’s ‘Being Human’ flagships! “Riding on the success of India’s celebrity T-shirt line ‘Being Human’
Tuesday, 04 October 2011
http://27.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lc...tnzso3_500.jpgRiding on the success of India’s celebrity T-shirt line ‘Being Human’ that has witnessed good sales last year, Mandhana Industries is now planning to launch exclusive ‘Being Human’ retail chains. This will be done at an investment of Rs 65-70 crores in Mumbai by the year end. The line was created to promote actor Salman Khan’s NGO Being Human Foundation. After the launch of its first store in December, properties in other locations like Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai among others are being finalised to open more flagship stores in 2012. The retail strategy includes 10-15 company owned flagship stores. Then the brand will spread wings through franchise stores across India.
Also on the cards is a women’s collection under Being Human label in 2012. The company is targeting Rs 20-25 crores revenue from its current retail operations this fiscal. They expect to grow to Rs 80-100 crores in 2012-13. Meanwhile, Mandhana is also working on expansion plans of its plants at Tarapur and Baramati, which would be ready by December 2011 and March 2012 respectively. Once the plants are fully operational, company’s garment manufacturing capacity will grow to 10 million pieces a year.
With the correction in cotton prices this year, Mandhana Industries expects profits to grow by 35 per cent in the current fiscal and touch Rs 90 crores, on revenue of Rs 1,050-1,100 crores. The profit margins are expected to grow by 19-20 per cent.
