If Croatia game is 1-1 and Italy defeats Ireland (whatever be the scoreline is), how is it possible that Spain and Croatia will go through?????
If Spain and Croatia ends in 1-1 draw and Italy wins, then these three teams will be tied with 5 points each.
Now, UEFA rules for Euro says you should first look at the GD among the teams that tied with respect to the matches played between them only. That means Italy's or Spain's or Croatia's result against Ireland DO NOT count at all. Now the games between these three teams ended in
1) Italy 1-1 Spain
2) Italy 1-1 Croatia
3) Spain 1-1 Croatia (assuming)
The GD is ZERO for all the teams.
So we will have to go to the next rule. That is, the number of goals scored among the teams that tied with respect to the matches played between the tied teams only.
The goals scored is 3 for ALL. :shock:
Now, the next rule is the team with the highest UEFA coefficient will get the nod.
UEFA Coefficients for the top 6 teams in Europe are :-
1) Spain - 39,964
2) Germany - 38,294
3) Netherlands -37,821
4) Italy -35,838
5) England -34,819
6) Croatia - 33,677
Croatia are two places down to Italy. That means Spain and Italy should go through , right?

- Italy win by two clear goals and score at least three, Croatia 1-1 Spain - Spain first, Italy second
- Italy win by four or more and score at least five, Croatia 1-1 Spain - Italy first, Spain second
- Italy win, Croatia 2-2 Spain - Spain first, Croatia second
