The Golden Petal Awards night was a star-studded affair. Adding to the glitter and glamour of this small screen award function were Hema Malini, Akshay Kumar, Chitrangada, Sonali Bendre, Juhi Chawla and John Abraham but the brightest of them was Salman ‘Dabangg’ Khan.
Amidst some wonderful performances, Salman’s dhinkachika left everyone grooving and moving. Even the leading pairs of Parichay and Uttaran couldn’t stop themselves from dancing to Salman’s tunes. While Sameer Soni and Nandish Sandhu did the signature step by putting hands in their pocket, the leading ladies Kirti and Tina also gave the steps a chance. However, they were unable to because their sarees were missing the essential pockets!
To make this starry night more memorable, Sallu danced on some of his signature songs Character Dheela, Humka Peeni and Chamiya. Completely wowing his fans in the audience, the actor was undoubtedly the eye candy for all the women in the event. Amidst the attention he was getting, one lucky lady fan of his actually managed to walk up to him and gave him a tight hug. Truly, Salman seems to be ever ready to entertain his fans be it big screen or silver screen.

Ready for Laughs!
Laughter is really the best medicine but not everyone is a past master in churning it. A slight flub, a little botch can easily make the jokes fall flat on their face and down the manhole. But in an industry where silliness is deified as the sine qua non of humour, even the antics as pedestrian as a farting guerrilla or a leapfrogging fatso make for rollicking comedy.
So we, not without some pain, sifted through the purported comedies of the year 2011 to pitch you the unavoidable question of choosing your favourite comedy of the year in the latest poll by ApunKaChoice.
Not much spoilt for choices, we zeroed down on some of the obvious names: Ready, that had Salman Khan trying to free his ladylove from the clutches of his avaricious uncles; Delhi Belly with its panoply of expletives and scatological gags; Desi Boyz about two guys taking to stripping in the time of recession; Yamla Pagla Deewana, an a ode to Punjabiat; and the small-budget comedy Pyaar Ka Punchnama.
We got 1689 votes out of which 45 percent voted Ready as their favourite comedy film of the year. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the movie had Salman Khan pairing with Asin for the second time and it had oodles of loud humour typical of Bazmee’s films.
