MANCHESTER CITY - 3 - 1 - SUNDERLAND

Though not one of City's best performances, three things stand out, the ability of City to come back after going down, the beautiful goals and a silverware after a long time! Even though it was Etihad and the crowd were screaming in support, Sunderland really owned the first half and their half-time lead of 1-0 was justified. In a single minute, the whole thing went upside down. Two goals and that too, superb curlers from Toure and Nasri put City and the stadium in front. That really dampened the Black Cats. Jesus Navas sealed the last nail in the last minute. Congrats Pellegrini. Long way to go!

The first City goal came from nowhere , from then onwards it was City show..but Sunderland do gave some problems to City backline

Good choice if things are going worse
..either keep Moyes and let the players leave ( that includes star players ) who didn't want him as Manager and let Moyes continue in his own way..
or keep the star players and appoint a high profile Manager who can utilize Mata , Kagawa etc in a more effective way

There is no way Man Utd are sacking Moyes after just one season...After all he was handpicked to do a job...So Moyes will continue most likely,firing him will only plunge the club into the wilderness...They will know that stability more than anything is required at this time especially if there is no CL football next season..Sacking Moyes and then appointing another manager will take the club only backwards,he will need to start from scratch again and it won't be easy with out genine CL quality players (just ask Liverpool fans)...imo there is absolutely no chance of Moyes getting fired after just one season.

Must win game for us too..Pride and Top 4 at stake...Most hated rivals...More than 10 days break before the match,no reason why we shudn't be taking all 3 points...I think the players will be absolutely fired up for this match and great opportunity to show the power shift..:wink:

If David Moyes made one mistake when he took over as the manager of Manchester United, it was this: He was too kind.

He was a bit too considerate to some of the established players at the club and he is paying for it now.

It comes out of decency, I think. Some of the players we are talking about have won many titles and have been very, very good *professionals.

Moyes wanted to give them a chance, even if maybe there was a feeling that some of them were coming to the end of their careers.

He was kind to them once. I don’t think he will be making that mistake again.

I don’t think United will panic and sack Moyes. They shouldn’t do, anyway.

Has he done enough at Old Trafford to warrant keeping the manager’s job? Well, he’s done enough in his previous career to keep it, certainly.

He has only bought two players in, don’t forget, Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata.

And the reality is that United need at least four more new big-money signings if they are going to be contenders next season.

The problem they face is that while they can identify the positions they need to strengthen, where do they get the players? Chelsea and Manchester City will already be planning their summer moves, too, and United will be at a disadvantage if they don’t qualify for the Champions League.

They will have to hope they can attract players either on the basis of finance or that they will want to come to Old Trafford and be part of the rebuilding of what has been a very successful club.

Moyes should be given the opportunity to oversee that, certainly. It’s a huge job and he’s only at the start of it.

You can blame the manager if you want, but some of the players ought to be taking a bit of *responsibility for what is going on there.

Moyes trusted them when he came in during the summer, and the truth is that some of them have not repaid that trust.

That’s one of the reasons why it makes me laugh when I hear the start of the inevitable *whispering campaign that Moyes has lost the dressing room.

That always strikes me as a lazy thing to say. Sure, it’s always tempting for players to blame somebody else.But whoever your manager is, whether you like him or not, you have to go out and play for your own self-respect.

You don’t want to embarrass yourself playing in front of tens of thousands of people, do you?

I don’t buy the idea that players go out thinking if they don’t do well, an unpopular manager might get the sack.

If I don’t like the manager, then I don’t like him, but I would still rather come off the football pitch having won the game. I would want to go home knowing I have worked as hard as I could to get the right result.

So, if Moyes isn’t getting results, it’s not because he has ‘lost the dressing room’. It is because the club needs an overhaul.

The time for being considerate has gone.

Moyes has got plenty of steel. Now he needs to show it.

I don't necessarily agree to KD's comments..I dont think Moyes was being considerate,I think he genuinely thought these players are good enough to challenge for the title again and its true imo,Had Fergie still been at the helm,Utd wud have been hovering at the top with this team...there was supposed to be a rebuilding phase until Jan when a new manager comes in,but after Jan he shud be getting the results...I think most players are just pissed off with the lack of tactical nous of Moyes and also lack of any identity in playing style (RVP's comments about his team mates playing in his zone proves that) and more importantly most players do not think Moyes is the man to lead the club forward.

Aavum...KD paranjapole Utd aren't going to sack Moyes after the first season anyway...They will give him the oppurtunity to rebuild.
