However big the market bomb is a bomb....
Look at how Bollywood is struggling now....
100+ screens avg aayi paranjnathanu..of course star films will get 300-400+ screens ... And atrayum screensil hyped padam mathrame varathullu..
U have answered one of ur own qstn yourself..yaanai polathe film enthukondu 100+ screens kitti ...ithe reason thanne ...theatres available aayirunu kalikkan vere filmsum illa..so that film got the screens..
Angane oru niyamam kondu varenda karyamilla...demand ullathkondu Alle atrem screens kodukunath... OL films irrespective of tier 1 city or rural limit City kaanan ivide audience undu... Unlike other states where only urban audience watch our films in theatres...if we make content which can attract all sections of audience and promote it well in other states our films will also get better release and collection...quick results onnum expect cheyyan pattilla..will be a slow process ...

Bomb is a bomb ..but impact will be different and varies across industries...
Bollywood struggle okke started way back ..before covid ... And ee struggle okke easily recover cheyyam avarku... 2-3 big hits and they are up and running again...content kshaamam undu...athu maati eduthal thanne avar rekshapettolum... upcoming khan films click aayal thanne industry will be back...for the time being they are out ....
Iam not denying demand supply theory. Let a Vijay film release in 600 screens or Ajith suriya film in 200 screens. Athil kuzhappam illa.
But why create an artificial demand for other language films by giving less hyped films a wider release?
Its not fully a problem of content alone. It's the tolerance which we have towards orher language films compared to what they have towards us
In terms of collection too the so called Malayalam flops like prakashan, priyan etc would have collected more than these third grade tamil films in Kerala box office. Yaanai, don, Vj sethupathy films etc have not even touched 1 cr at Kerala BO in spite of getting 100 screens. Whereas some of our films have collected 1 - 2 crores from limited screens in Chennai and Coimbatore alone
So where does demand supply theory apply here?
Telugu industry valuthanu ennu ellavarkkum ariyunna karyam aanu. They love movies. Athu nokkanda. Ennittu koodi ingane oru prashnam vannu. Impact kuravavum malayalathine kaal. Pakshe theere impact illa ennu parayan pattilla.
Malayalathinum june vare monthly one hit undayirunnu. June masam mathram aanu oru ksheenam vannathu. 6 hits in 6 months. So monthly one.
Regarding Kannada KGF and charlie mattram blockbusters aayittu baaki okke flops and disaster aayittu karyam undo. 3-4 hits in six months is definitely not healthy sign. Others have not even touched 5 crore collection. That is something to worry. But due to KGF success other negatives went unnoticed
Demand & supply is not based on film to films... It's for Tamil films as a whole...they have a market here ,people watch Tamil films.. so naturally they will get screens...not talking abt box office success and all... Don & vjs film didn't release in 100+ screens...both of them were limited releases without a good release in main centres... Nannayi odi kondu irikunna oru Malayalam padathinte screens eduthu kondu poyi oru OL film nu koduthal I agree ..avide oru preference undu ..but recentl situation vannitilla...yaanai okke vannapol vere films onnum Illayirunu kalikan..so they played that film in 100+ screens... Koode Vanna malayalam films also bomb aayathkondu ee padam replace cheythu kalikkan pattiyilla.... Avar nammude films nu support kodukunilla ennonum paranjnal Sheri aavila..kurup okke annaatthe extra screens kondupoyath thanne athinte etuvum valiya example...the thing is avide ulla local audience padam kanilla unless it's a big event film... Ellarkum appeal cheyyunna oru big event film nammal undakiyal avadeyum nammude padam Odum... Rather than blaming them for not supporting our films we should be able to make films which appeal to everyone and penetrate the market... Sooner or later it will happen eventually

Gold and Malayankunju both deserve a wider release in Tamil Nadu. Malayankunju-FAFA and ARR and Gold -Alphonse and Nayanthara. Both of them can be released with subtitles without dubbing.
I have a feeling that Gold will become another Premam among Tamil audiences.
