Designer duo Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor opened the Aamby Valley India Bridal Week 2011 at Hotel Sahara Star, Mumbai, with a dazzling Phantom Couture collection.
Inspired by the Victorian era and the drama of Mughal times, the designers wove together glamour, grandeur and colour into their ball gowns and ethnic wear.
For the finale, Anjalee and Arjun had the sexy Mallika Sherawat walk as the showstopper in a jewelled bustier and a bright carrot red panelled lehenga. Mallika said, "What I like about Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor's fashion sensibility is that they are unafraid to experiment. It's exciting to wear a bridal outfit with a twist. I love the romantic look of the lotus concept lehenga. It makes a style statement for any trousseau and signifies luxury for the new age bride."
Jewel tones of ruby, sapphire, emerald and topaz peppered this collection of moulded blouses and fluid voluminous skirts. Delicate lace trimmings edged the creations to highlight the silhouettes. Precious stones like crystals, emeralds, rubies, turquoise and aquamarine glittered on every garment. Menswear consisted of black and white sections with churidars, sherwanis and Jodhpur jackets embellished with gleaming silk and brocades with tonal crystals on the cuffs, shoulders and garments.
For brides and grooms who want to make their D-day a memorable one, the Phantom Couture collection by Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor will be the perfect offering.

Will help Isabella find a good launch: Katrina - Hindustan Times
Katrina Kaif doesn’t deny that one of her six sisters, Isabella, has starry aspirations and is planning a career in Bollywood. However, the actor, who has just landed the coveted role opposite Aamir Khan in Dhoom 3, vehemently refutes rumours that she is planning to launch her sister.
Katrina is equally miffed about frequent stories in the media speculating over competitive run-ins with contemporaries like Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone and even newbies like Sonakshi Sinha. “I don’t know if the misrepresentation is intentional or not, but it’s upsetting,” she says, adding, “I’m so busy with my own life, family and career, that there’s no time to look over my shoulder and wonder about what others are doing.”
She insists that from what she can see, everyone has their space and is doing fine. “None of us are fighting with each other over roles,” she insists. “And while we may not be best friends going in and out of each other’s houses, we are chilled out enough to appreciate each other’s work.”
She points out that if she watches a promo, she makes a mental note to catch the film and express appreciation even if it doesn’t feature her. “But the press is busy trying to create rivalries over a 30-second appearance in a song when everyone can see that Bodyguard is Kareena’s and Salman’s (Khan) film. Right now my biggest concern is not my colleagues, but finding a dream house. I need to start looking for one, if I can find the time.”

Farhan Akhtar on portraying Milkha Singh
He delivered an impressive performance as Imraan in sister Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (ZNMD). And now, actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar is readying to sprint towards another challenging role that of the legendary sprinter Milkha Singh.
The actor admits that Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s
biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, also starring Sonam Kapoor, puts on his shoulders a lot of responsibility. “We are talking about someone who has a larger-than-life persona, and is an icon who has inspired others. So, everything else becomes secondary,” he says.
Ash Farhan if he’s visited the athlete and his family in Punjab to prepare for the part, and he replies: “Not yet. But it’s something I intend to do very soon.” Apparently, he will also train with special Olympic trainers and consultants to achieve an athletic body. “For such a role, you have to look athletic. And an athlete’s body is very different from that of a person who works out in the gym,” he adds.
Farhan contends he will start preparing for the role towards the end of this year. “As soon as I am done with work on Don 2, I will get into the Milkha Singh phase,” he says. Is it true that he is taking six months off to prepare for the role? “I generally prefer taking up one film at a time. The only time I had multiple projects on my hands was when I worked on ZNMD while gearing up to start Don 2. But I don’t want to be in that space again.”
Apparently, ZNMD, which Farhan wrote dialogues for and produced, has led to him being bombarded with acting offers. “Bombarded is a bit too much. But I have got some great offers,” he says with a laugh, adding that he took some time off after finishing the first cut of his upcoming directorial venture, Don 2. “I didn’t want to turn anything down without going through it thoroughly,” he says.
Besides Milkha, Farhan also loved the script of Abhishek Kapoor’s adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s 3 Mistakes Of My Life. “Eventually, I will do the film. But it’s still in the scripting stage,” he says. Co-incidentally, the film will see him take on another sport cricket.
Ask him about the sequel to Rock On!! (200, and he says, “It’s actually a project under development. Abhishek (Kapoor, director) and I have been meeting and he’s putting together the story in an interesting manner,” he says.
