Kaun Banega Crorepati wins the TRP race!
Kaun Banega Crorepati, with a charismatic host in the form of Amitabh Bachchan helped many in achieving their dreams. It comes with a philosophy which appeals to the common man of the country and that’s ‘Koi Bhi Insan Chota Nahi Hota’. The tagline was proved right by Sushil Kumar, a computer teacher from a small village of Bihar, who won 5 crores. The show started with decent TRPs, but went on to become the highest TRP gainer, by taking Sony TV to greater heights and becoming the No.2 GEC.
The top prize winners of the show have been from middle and lower middle class backgrounds. When they won this high amount, their happiness had no bounds and the cherry on the cake was when Amitabh celebrated their victory. These contestants not only attracted viewers to the show, but also added TRPs in the show. When Sushil Kumar's episode was aired, the show gained 7.2 TVR (Television Rating) on the first day and 8 TVR on the other day as he was a roll over contestant. Amitabh Bachchan was overwhelmed after looking at the confidence of each contestant.
A recent tweet by Sneha Rajani head of Sony channel, read "KBC this season - 120 million viewers All India! Astounding….(sic)"
Amitabh Bachchan had also tweeted recently that he will be back soon with the sixth season of KBC.

I'm not casting Sunny Leone for her body: Mahesh Bhatt
Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt enters the "Bigg Boss 5" house Monday and says he has decided to offer porn star Sunny Leone, who is also participating in the reality show, the lead role in his movie " Jism 2".
"I am not casting her for her body, but I see that loneliness and heartbroken soul that is behind that smile. The entertainment business itself is not a cakewalk, so the porn business would have been a really tough ride for her," Bhatt told IANS on phone from Mumbai.
"I love casting people who are real. People who have gone through highs and lows to reach a stature where people look up to them for their hard work. Sunny is being shown in a bright light with an exotic image on television, but I sensed that she must have gone through a lot to earn a name in an industry which people don't appreciate," added the 61-year-old.
"Jism" released in 2003 was an unexpected box office success and made debutants John Abraham and Bipasha Basu known names in the film industry.
Born to a Punjabi family in Ontario, Sunny has appeared in various reality shows in the US, and was named among the world's top 12 porn stars by fashion magazine Maxim in 2010.
Bhatt feels Sunny has an emotional 'edge' which could work wonders for "Jism 2".
"'Jism 2' narrates the story of a woman who transcends from the 'body' to the 'soul'. I wanted to approach an actress who not only has the physical attributes but also the emotional 'edge' to carry off the complexity of the role.
"I see Sunny as a perfect fit for the film and the script. Had approached Bipasha Basu and Mallika Sherawat for the role earlier, but things didn't work out," he added.
What made Bhatt choose Colors reality show "Bigg Boss 5" as a platform to announce the film.
"Announcing a film is as important as any other aspect of filmmaking, whether it be releasing it or promoting it. 'Bigg Boss' is a great platform to reach a wide audience. And we thought it was the right time to approach her," he said.

"I have my sad days" - Nargis Fakhri
For someone who is full of beans, cheerful and always out to have some fun, it can get really tough to stay closely guarded.
American fashion model and actress Nargis Fakhri who made her debut with Ranbir Kapoor in Rockstar found it extremely difficult to live those many months while the film was being shot since the film's producer and director Imtiaz Ali didn't let her be in public eye so as to maintain a mystery around the leading lady. "I like being out there, exploring, meeting people, but being closely guarded was very difficult. Imagine, I had no family no friends, I was all alone and only working. Those days I would cry. It was an emotional struggle (whoosh)," she says with a sad face.
But then, Nargis had found friends in two people from the shooting unit - her leading man Ranbir Kapoor and director Imtiaz Ali. "There were only two people in my life and I got attached to them," she says. "But now when I look back I appreciate the kind of life I led because it taught me to get to know myself and love myself," she adds.
Besides being happy, spirited and energetic, Nargis can also be quite impulsive. "My agents working with me get nervous because I can be quite unpredictable. I often do something over the top. My mom laughs and says, where did you come from?" she laughs. And yes, we just witnessed her doing something totally over the top. She took a cardboard box, covered the head and face of a young man with it and autographed on it while squealing with joy like a little girl.
But yes, Nargis has her sad days and those days she chooses to stay away from people. "I have my sad days and I don't want to give it to other people. I am sensitive to energy and when my energy is low or I am feeling sad I don't want to give it to others. I stay alone," she says.
And while dealing with her moods when in the company of her Rockstar co-star, she says, "On screen Ranbir and I had great chemistry. But we know each other's energy in real life. I don't think I am more sensitive to his energy but he has learnt that I am very sensitive. He asks me when I am feeling sad and I tell him and then he keeps his space. Similarly, when I find him moody I stay away. When you are working with people and you are connected, you can tell if something is wrong...you understand and feel for each other. And these are the people who are grounded, loving nurturing, human beings," Nargis further says.

Actor turned producer Preeti Jhangiani, who is at the ongoing 42nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) with her film Sahi Dhande Galat Bande, says she misses the big screen.
The actor, who took a two-year hiatus to give birth to her baby with actor Parvin Dabas, said, "I miss being
in front of the camera. As an actress I am always hungry. It's been two years since I acted and becoming a mother takes that much time. I am looking at some offers and will be making an announcement by first week of December."
Preeti, who began her Bollywood journey with Shahrukh Khan starrer Mohabbatein, turned producer with the film Sahi Dhande Galat Bande, an action comedy centered on a gang of four friends. It released on August 19 this year and is a part of the Indian Panorama at IFFI.
She said she is happy with the critical acclaim, but the film took a hit commercially.
"The day our film was released, Anna Hazare was arrested. The nation's mood was not to watch a film. It affected us commercially. But I am happy with the critical acclaim. I ddidn't expect that my very first film will be selected for IFFI," Preeti said.
The film takes up the issue of land acquisition from farmers in a small village Kanjhawla. The film stars Parvin Dabas, Anupam Kher and Sharat Saxena.

KAREENA KAPOOR and SAIF ALI KHAN
In the past, Saif had announced that the couple would marry early next year in 2012 but month and the date were never confirmed.
"They have been together for quite some time now and their relationship has grown. I can hardly wait for the wedding next year. There will be a number of functions and I am very excited about what to wear," she told media.
On the other hand, she refused to comment anything about her relationship and marriage with Kunal Khemu.
CHECK OUT: Will Kareena sizzle with Saif in AGENT VINOD?
Reportedly, it is believed that famous designer Ritu Kumar is designing Kareena's outfit for the D-Day while the wedding ring has already been purchased by the actor.
However, Saif, who recently assumed the title of tenth Nawab of Pataudi, is busy with his home production AGENT VINOD and wishes to talk about much awaited wedding next year only.
This will be actor's second marriage after his first one with actress Amrita Singh, with whom he has two children, ended in 2004.
Interestingly, even for Kareena, this is her second relationship after she dated actor Shahid Kapoor for three years.

Sunny never asked to star opposite Rahul: Mahesh

Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has rubbished reports that he had approached porn star Sunny Leone to star in a film opposite his son Rahul Bhatt.
"The reports are all false. Some irresponsible journalist made up the news. But these reports don't hold any truth. Yes, in 2003, we did think of her but couldn't approach her as we didn't have the proper contact back then," Mahesh Bhatt said in an interview.
Now Bhatt has a different plan for Sunny. He will enter the "Bigg Boss 5" house Wednesday and offer Sunny the lead role in his film "Jism 2".
The 63-year-old producer-director sees no harm in using the "Bigg Boss" platform to announce his decision.
"For us publicity is not a bad word, it is our heartbeat. Everybody uses the stage to sell their product, we too are using it to simply promote our product," said Bhatt, who in his 42 years in the industry has produced films like "Arth", "Saaransh", "Zakhm", "Aashiqui" and "Tamanna".
"Jism 2" was earlier offered to Bipasha Basu and Mallika Sherawat, but things didn't work out.
