Brilliant Henin sails past Serena!
Justine Henin was in superb form as she saw off Serena Williams 6-4 6-3 to reach the French Open semi-finals.
The defending champion broke in the first game and Williams could not find a way back into the match. The crowd sensed a Williams comeback when the American immediately broke back having dropped serve at the start of the second set.But Henin's aggressive tactics kept forcing mistakes as she clinched her first win over Williams since 2003.The Belgian, seeking her third French Open title in a row and a fourth in total, will meet Jelena Jankovic in the semi-finals on Thursday.

Semifinals Set at the 2007 French Open!
All good things must come to an end sooner or later, but Serena Williams was hoping that it would be the latter when it came to her chances of winning the Grand Slam.It was not meant to be today for the eight-time Grand Slam champion as she was knocked out of the French Open in straight sets by world number one Justine Henin. In winning her quarterfinal today against Serena Williams, Justine ended Serenas pursuit of the Grand Slam, but kept alive her own dreams of a fourth - and third consecutive - French Open title. One of Justines few weaknesses over the past several days has been her difficulty closing out a match once she grabs an early lead, but today she did not have any problems shutting down Serena after winning the first set.
The players exchanged breaks a couple of times during the second set, but Serenas best opportunities to win the match had already passed. By the time Justine had the opening set in the can, she played her way through to the semifinals in just forty-one minutes, ending with a 6-4, 6-3 win.Last years finalist Svetlana Kuznetsova saw her dreams of a second Grand Slam title end three matches early. Rising star Ana Ivanovic won their lopsided encounter 6-0, 3-6, 6-1 and will face Sharapova in the next round.
Jelena Jankovic had a somewhat easier win than her countrywoman Ivanovic today. Nicole Vaidisova mounted a charge in the second set, but it was too late to deny Jankovic a spot in her second Grand Slam semifinal with a 6-3, 7-5 victory.
Maria Sharapova continued her surprising run at Roland Garros with a solid 6-3, 6-4 win over Anna Chakvetadze. Most impressive of all, Sharapova capitalized on her serve during the match for an overall 74% first serve percentage, her second best of the tournament.

Federer set to face Davydenko in French semis!
Roger Federer found himself in an unfamiliar position at the French Open: even with an opponent at one set apiece.
That Federer lost the second set of his quarterfinal against No. 9-seeded Tommy Robredo of Spain on Tuesday qualified as shocking _ not only because Federer won his previous 36 Grand Slam sets to break an Open era record, but also because of the margin.
"I don't lose sets 6-1 that often, you know,'' Federer said, "so you're like, 'Oh, come on.'''
Robredo looked at his mini-victory as though he was poking a dragon: "It was as if I had said, 'Hello! Wake up!''
That was certainly the effect the one-set slip-up had on Federer, who quickly returned to his customary level of play for a 7-5, 1-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory, reaching the semifinals at a record 12th major tournament in a row. "In the second set, for some reason, I just couldn't really figure out how to play him or the way I want to play him,'' Federer said. "I didn't figure it out.''
He started the third set poorly, too, missing a forehand wildly to fall behind 15-40 while serving the opening game. But Robredo then pushed a backhand into the net, and Federer was on his way, taking 17 of 19 points.
Federer wound up with a 26-5 edge in winners over the final two sets. "He just started playing so good,'' said Robredo, who won his first career match against Federer back in 2002 but has lost the eight meetings since.
