Trinamool Cong calls Bengal bandh on Friday
Kolkata (PTI): Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said that her party would observe a 12-hour bandh in West bengal on Friday in protest against fuel price hike by the "CPI-M-supported UPA government".
Dubbing the fuel price hike by the UPA government as "unfortunate and unprecedented," Banerjee said that the UPA government has no right to rule.
Ms Banerjee said that CPI-M, which was supporting the Manmohan Singh government, was creating a 'drama' by calling a 12-hour statewide bandh on Thursday. "If as supporting parties they called the bandh, Trinamool Congress can also call bandh to protest against the government's decision," she said. Banerjee said that during the last four years the UPA government had done "very little except flattering the CPI-M."
