The hunt begins!

Hello friends,
After my first film, ‘Gubbachigalu’ (Sparrows) I took almost a year to write my next film, ‘Shikari’. This film is about the ‘Hunt within’ all of us. Once the script was ready, I approached the legendary Malayalam actor, Mammootty who gregariously accepted to essay the protagonist. It was a dream come true for me as a director to be working with such a great actor. I was surprised to see how down to earth and simple this great actor was.
Next one whole year passed by in arranging the funds and preparations for the film. Finally here we are ready to shoot the film. We are planning to shoot the film from end of May 2010. Wish us all luck in this journey. I hope you will watch the film when we come to the theaters near you and bless us.

Synopsis

Shikari is the story of a software engineer hunting the characters from a novel. We explore what happens if some one is to fall in love with the characters in a novel. The hunt is also with in us as we hunt for meanings in life. The hunt to know the rulers of our minds. Do we really learn from our past? Does the past really help us understand today’s problem in different light? Shikari poses several questions to you and sets you in the hunt within your self.
So come, be a part of Shikari which is within you and me!

ಅಂತೂ ಮಲಯಾಳಂ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದ ಸೂಪರ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಮಮ್ಮೂಟ್ಟಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸುವುದು ಖಾತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಪುಣೆಯ ಫಿಲ್ಮಂ ಇನ್ ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಟ್ ನಿಂದ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದಿರುವ ಯುವ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಅಭಯಸಿಂಹ ಅವರ ಕಥೆ [^], ಚಿತ್ರಕಥೆಗೆ ಮಮ್ಮೂಟಿ ಪಾತ್ರಧಾರಿಯಾಗಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಶಿಕಾರಿ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದ ತಂಡದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಎನ್ ಆರ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಬದಲಿಗೆಕೆ ಮಂಜು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಗುಬ್ಬಚ್ಚಿಗಳು ಎಂಬ ಸದಭಿರುಚಿಯ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ವಿಮರ್ಶಕರ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆಗಳಿಸಿದ ಅಭಯ್ ಸಿಂಹ ಅವರು, ವರ್ಷದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಮಮ್ಮೂಟಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸಿ,ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಪೂರ್ವ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯೋತ್ತರ ಭಾರತದ ಕಥಾ ಹಂದರವುಳ್ಳ ಶಿಕಾರಿ ಚಿತ್ರಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿ, ಸೈ ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ, ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಹೊಡೆತ ಬಿದ್ದು, ಮಮ್ಮೂಟಿ ಅವರ ಕಾಲ್ ಶೀಟ್ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಚಿತ್ರ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲೇ ವಿಘ್ನ ಕಂಡಿತ್ತು. ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಅನ್ ಮೋಲ್ ಭಾವೆ ಸಂಗೀತ. ವಿಕ್ರಂ ಶ್ರೀವಾತ್ಸವ ಛಾಯಾಗ್ರಹಣವಿದೆ. ಸುಚಿತ್ರಾ ಸಾಥೆ ಸಂಕಲನ. ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲೇ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಈ ಮುಂಚೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಸೋಮವಾರ ಪೊಲ್ಲಾಚಿಗೆ ತೆರಳಿ ಮಮ್ಮೂಟಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿ ಮಾಡಿ, ಮಮ್ಮೂಟಿ ಅವರ ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಪುನಃ ಪಡೆದು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪಳಸ್ಸಿ ರಾಜ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಒಳ್ಳೆ ಓಪನಿಂಗ್ ನಿಂದ ಖುಷಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಮಮ್ಮೂಟಿ , ಸದ್ಯ ಶಫಿ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ಮಲೆಯಾಳಂ ಚಿತ್ರವೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ಯುಸಿ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕಥಾವಸ್ತು ಇಷ್ಟವಾದರೆ ಸಂಭಾವನೆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಲೆಕೆಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದ ಮಮ್ಮೂಟ್ಟಿ ಬಹುಶಃ ವರ್ಷದ ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾಲಿಡಬಹುದು. ಶಿಕಾರಿ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಮಹೂರ್ತ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲೇ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ. ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಯಾವಾಗ, ಉಳಿದ ತಾರಾಗಣ, ಬಜೆಟ್ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಸದ್ಯದಲ್ಲೇ ನೀಡುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಮಂಜು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಕೊಸರು: ಕಳೆದ ಕೆಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಮಮ್ಮೂಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆ ತರುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದರೂ ಸಫಲವಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸುವ ಮೊದಲೇ ಮಲೆಯಾಳಂ ನ ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಚಿತ್ರ 'ವಿಧೇಯನ್ 'ನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಮ್ಮೂಟಿ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಬೈಗುಳದ ಪದಗಳೇ ಇದ್ದವು ಅನ್ನೋದು ಮರೆಯಬೇಕಾದ ಸಂಗತಿ.&13;
