This army-based TV serial made television history in India as it introduced Shahrukh Khan. The first six episodes of this memorable serial, directed by Colonel R.K. Kapoor, start with the young officers including Abhimanyu Rai (Shahrukh Khan) arriving at the commando school. Abhi woos Dr. Madhu with flowers while his brother Vikram, who is a senior training officer, gets sentimentally involved with the General’s journalist daughter Kiran and narrates past emotionally distressing anecdotes. Another officer’s (Peters) girlfriend is smuggled into the camp! The youngsters continue to play pranks amidst rigorous training. The punishment meted by a stern Vikram makes Abhi nearly collapse during one such occasion.
The concluding episodes deals with the metamorphosis of the young officers who are plunged into real-time war action. Despite the impending war, the young officers intersperse training with pranks, a wedlock amidsts shrill explosions and a challenge match of squash between the senior and junior officers. Soon, war bugles sound and the raiding parties are para-dropped into enemy territory and a tough battle ensues. Despite minor injuries, the platoon headed by the brothers Abhi and Vikram triumphs against all odds. The brave ones win accolades, medals and even hearts.

released-1993
Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa is love triangle handled differently. The main character played by Shah Rukh Khan is a loser who deeply loves a girl and does everything possible to win her heart. Though the film has a story of its own we get to see the other characters through Shah Rukh’s eyes. This unique angle of view is what makes Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa a different and better love triangle. And that Kundan Shah has done a great job directing it is even better. The film continues with some twists and turns but all ends well. Sunil (Shah Rukh Khan) is a student in college who has failed the same class about four times. He plays a saxophone, and performs in a band with his buddies. He is always taunted by his father as a good for nothing bum, but is always bailed out by his mother. Sunil loves Anna (Suchitra Krishnamurthy) with all his heart and thinks his only goal in life is to win her heart. Anna is a lead singer in the band who silently loves Chris (Deepak Tijori), the son of a "crore-pati." Little does Anna know that Chris also loves her very much as well.
Sunil becomes aware of the budding relationship between Anna and Chris and realizes that he could very well lose Anna to Chris. He thus begins a laughable attempt at breaking up this couple and wooing Anna.
Though the story sounds a little bit familiar, its treatment is very different. Kundan Shah has always been attributed to good films, and his mature handling of a regular film as this shows why. He has also managed to make the rest of the film look good alongside all the occurrences. The characters, especially Sunil, are for once let off the typical melodrama and fake emotions to be depicted as realistically as possible. Shah Rukh gives a wonderful performance; his sense of comedic timing is perfect in each scene. Most of the film, barring the romance scenes, requires him to be comedic and his talent is evident there. Suchitra didn’t appear in any other films as a leading lady after this one, but she does her part well. Deepak Tijori is also good. Though Nasserudin has a small role, his image as a father figure to Shah Rukh has been portrayed nicely.
And complimenting the film is Jatin-Lalit’s music. "Deewana dil deewana" is an great number. "Yaar mila dildaar mila" and "Ae kaash ke hum hosh mein" are also wonderfully composed by the brilliant duo.
Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa is definitely an entertainer
