I watch La Liga , EPL , some Italian and German league games.....have to say German league is much better than some of the other big league's....

Right. German League is really good it seams. But dont have the drive and time to watch it.

Barcelona had lost to Chelsea , Liverpool , Arsenal & Man Utd in England ..did they ? What is Barca's record in England ??

Did Barcelona lose at Stamford Bridge? Even during the time of Mourinjho ,Barca have won and drawn at Chelsea. I am just asking a doubt? May be once they have lost also ,right.
Of course Arsenal ( we have seen these matches ,right)and United have defeated them in England.
Anyway that is not the point, right? United ,Liverpool,Arsenal,Chelsea are the big guns of England and so are on par with Barcelona in stature .
So these teams can Beat/get beaten when they play Barcelona, right?
But Valencia and Villareal which are the 3/4/5 teams of LaLiga are considered as much inferior by the EPL guys and still gave United a run for their money

That is simply becasue of the duopoly of Real Madrid & Barcelona...they themselves sell their media rights...in England FA is taking caring of it...they are distributing it ....even the 20th placed team in the League will get a very good share...

Totally agree with you. The smaller teams of LaLiga need more money to catch up with the big guns to make Liga more competitive. But as you said initially the technical brilliance of these so called mediocre teams make La Liga the dream league for old Romantics like me.

This has a bit of Mammootty -Mohanlal fight style to it.
People who crave for the technical brilliance of Spanish Football and Liga may not like EPL ANd English teams.
People who admire the competitive streak of English teams and EPL may not like LaLiga .

So let us live with our likes ,preferences and fascinations.

But does it mean that Madrid and Mourinjho are garbage?
As you are a person who is a master in analyzing football there is no need
for me to tell that goal margin does nt always tell the truth.
These margins reflect to an extent the playing style in Spanish Football.
The same Mourinjho struggled against Sporting De Gijon to score a goal at Camp Nou and lost the match. Madrid beat Almeria 8-1 when Almeria were already relegated ,but then lost at Almeria 2-1 in a significant match when the League title was still at stake.
Both Barcelona and Madrid have struggled against these shoe string budget teams . In some of those matches they would have won 3-1 and 4-1 at the end, but the matches were never one sided.

And you know Chelsea have won 8-0 and 7-1 in EPL as well, right?
There is an almost similar table for Barcelona too....may add that 5-0 demolition in that ...in truth ....so many games are one sided even though it some times didn't reflect on the number of goals scored....but if you check the statistics like ball possession etc you can see the difference...Madrid failed to do that against the mighty Barcelona only....yes Chelsea had those '2' results

After the Champions League final on May 28th there was a report in one of the Malayalam TV channels quoting minister Muneer ( dont have any regards or respect for him as a person , his stature or as a politician. But just I am quoting his comments)
"Kali muzhuvan kandu. Njhan Unitedine aayirunnu support cheythirunnathu. Pakshe kali pakuthi aakarayappozhekkum njhan Rashtreeyakkarude pole kalu mari. Barcelona kalicha manoharamaya kali kandu njhan marukandam chaadi. Avarude kaliyil njhan veenu poyi"
These words are coming from an ordinary football fan who dont dissect the tactics/techniques like us. I just wonder , if the football mad people of Malappuram and Northern Keralam are exposed to FC Barcelona and their football on aregular basis, that has the potential to revolutionize Football viewing/playing in Keralam....This is just a thought.

Barcelona have clinched the Audi Cup after a straightforward 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

The star of the show was Barca's emerging star Thiago Alcantara, who struck in either half to condemn the hosts to defeat, in what was an impressive all-round display from the 20-year-old.

The match was a somewhat low key affair despite the 60,000 packed into the stadium; Bayern fielded nine changes from the side that started the penalty-kick win over AC Milan, while Barca shuffled their pack but included the Thiago and Andres Iniesta in their midfield.

It was the Catalan side who enjoyed the majority of possession in the opening exchanges, but aside from a David Villa free-kick that was palmed to safety by Butt and a half-chance for Jonathan Soriano, opportunities on goal were at a premium.

Bayern should then have taken the lead against the run of play as David Alaba raced clear, but he hesitated with his finish, and Victor Valdes did extremely well to spread himself and block the effort.

The Austrian was made to rue that miss as Barca took the lead on 41 minutes. Maxwell's chipped cross into the area found Thiago at the back post, and the young Spaniard leapt higher than Diego Contento to glance his header into the corner.

The flow of play in the second-half was severely disturbed due to incessant substitutions from both sides. Bayern introduced the likes of Toni Kroos, Mario Gomez and Thomas Muller as they sought to peg back the European champions.

However, the new arrivals were left to look on in awe as Thiago all but ended the contest with his second goal of the evening. Finding space at the edge of the area, he expertly curled a shot from all of thirty yards into Butt's top left corner, and took the acclaim from his team-mates after another superb outing.

Barca were able to see out the match from there, and after edging past Internacional on penalties on Tuesday, Pep Guardiola's side ruthlessly clinched the Audi Cup on German soil.

I hope Thiago will get more first team football this season.
Sincerely wish they dont spend on Fabregas and instead strengthen their defence.

United's away record has been not that good in Europe , but that can't be considered as a scale for this comparison....unlike Chelsea Man Utd have more British based players , this may help in the domestic league to an extent but in Europe it always backfires...

May be . And teams like Roma, Udinese, Napoli,Sampdoria etc are entertaining as well ? But the image I have of ITALIAN National Football team is really really negative because of their Catenachio/park the bus football.
But as I said these are all individual tastes and preferences.
I have a younger cousin ( mid thirtees) who is a huge fan of Italian Football and tactics. According to him Mourinjho, though he is a Portuguese is now the biggest exponent of Italian Football.
