May be . And teams like Roma, Udinese, Napoli,Sampdoria etc are entertaining as well ? But the image I have of ITALIAN National Football team is really really negative because of their Catenachio/park the bus football.
But as I said these are all individual tastes and preferences.
I have a younger cousin ( mid thirtees) who is a huge fan of Italian Football and tactics. According to him Mourinjho, though he is a Portuguese is now the biggest exponent of Italian Football.
I dont think thats right.. They are not a "park the bus" type team.. Italian teams are known for their great defensive players like Maldini, Baresi, Nesta and not to mention their good line of exceptional goal keepers.. Just like Brazil takes pride in their attacking front, Italian are proud to play to their strengths..

And if you have watched them, they are not just John terry (aka kick the ball out of your territiry) type defenders.. They are eleganat and class.. And their counter attacking footbal are sometime a real treat..

Mourinho is a modern day tactician who models his team and style of play as per the opponent.. His teams are too technical adn that makes them boring

Some times I feel like writing a feature in Malayalam in one of the Malayalam News papers just to introduce the common men to the beautiful world of Club Football ,to inspire them watching Barcelona, United , Chelsea, Bayern, Madrid,Milan . If they watch these matches regularly , it will go a long way to re establish football as the premier sport at least in our Keralam.
But lack of time and drive is inhibiting me .

By the way, Why are you not coming to the movie threads, Giggs?
I thnk u shud write ASAP..cos ppl gets active only when there is an international tournament

keeping them aside, i feel Thiago is the future of barcelona and more importantly, Spain (if he stays and i hope he stays on)
as pointed by master, barcelona have to tighten their defense.. they have arguably the best attack in the world..

    Welcome Hitman.
Yaa. Thiago should be taken care of. He is precious.
Infact there is his younger brother - Rafinha(if my memory is right) Alcantara . He is regarded as a greater talent than Thiago. Right now he plays for Barca B. The future looks promising for Barcelona.

also i would like to focus some light on madrid's defense.. the goals are scored easily against a team managed by Mourinho..

You are right. I feel Mourinho is struggling to keep a balance between his Park the Bus Football and making the Madrid Fans happy. If MOURINHO TRY TO PLAY ATTACKING FOOTBALL HE IS SURE TO LEAK GOALS. Madridistas cant tolerate negative football beyond certain limits. Right now they are tolerating Mourinho because they are desperate to end the Barca dominance.

Real Madrid and Emirates presented a new sponsorship deal for the next five years. The deal, announced at a press conference today at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, sees Emirates become a Partner and Official Airline to the club for the next five years.

Florentino Perez said: “Emirates is a world-renowned company that has always respected and valued sport. The airline shares our belief in loyalty, effort, commitment and innovation and these common principles will create a special understanding. We strongly believe this is a strategic alliance bridging us with our many followers all over the world.”

"Having launched flights to Madrid on 1st August last year, this is a tremendous way for Emirates to mark the first anniversary of the route, while demonstrating our on-going support to sports and sports followers around the world," added Salem Obaidalla

The act ended with an exchange of gifts. Real Madrid presented Emirates representatives with a customised shirt, and in turn received a scale replica of one of the airline's airbuses
    Wow i love Emirates jerseys

These words are coming from an ordinary football fan who dont dissect the tactics/techniques like us. I just wonder , if the football mad people of Malappuram and Northern Keralam are exposed to FC Barcelona and their football on aregular basis, that has the potential to revolutionize Football viewing/playing in Keralam....This is just a thought.

Brazil has long stopped playing attacking football. They dont have the guts to play that now. They try to score on the counter using their pacy strikers/wingers. Infact the way they played in the 2010 world cup was depressing. Just waiting for the opposition to make a mistake!!! Just imagine the plight of a legendary team!! But again some people can defend this in the name of tactics.

Regarding Italy, nobody have any doubts that Baresi and Maldini will go down as 2 of the greatest defenders in the history of football. But it is the playing style of Italy that I was referring to. But again I told,THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO LIKE IT AND PEOPLE WHO DESIST
    IT. So no more arguments.

Parking the bus means you play ( OR DONT PLAY) with all the 11 men behind the ball. Or in other words ,you park the bus in front of the penalty box.

No Ajmal. I dont think it will be easy for Barcelona. First of all Mourinho has put tremendous pressure on the referees with his antics and comments of the last season. He will continue to kick& foul Messi using Peppe and throttle Xavi & Iniesta using a 3 men defensive midfield .
But referees will be very reluctant to call fouls. So it is going to be tough.
