LaLiga is not easy,Giggs. May be it is true that only 2 clubs are competing for the title, but then even in EPL it is either United or Chelsea in the last many years. In EPL ,United and Chelsea can afford to lose games /draw games, because 5 or 6 teams can defeat others/get beaten ; the same reason which make the League competitive. But Barca and Madrid cant afford to lose or draw matches as each and every point is precious for both the teams. So each match in the league is like a final for them . Did you notice the Great Mourinjho sweating in the side lines when Madrid were playing Villareal, Valencia , Sevilla, Sporting De Gijon, Mallorca even at Camp Nou. That is the kind of pressure that each game bring to Barca and Madrid

Almost all the time there is an uncertainity , that makes Premier League enjoyable....teams like Wolves can beat Man Utd , Liverpool or Chelsea...Bolton may beat Arsenal....Blackpool also beat some top teams...there is an unceratinity .....apart from matches of Top 4 ...there are so many other entertaining matches...like Tottenham v Aston Villa etc...

apart from 2/3 games...most of the times Barca and Real dismantle their opponents rather easily....even the 3rd placed Valencia is no way near the Top 2....that itself will kill the competitiveness of the League...last season Chelsea started brilliantly...then came Arsenal..but ultimately Man Utd won the league...Arsenal who were in Top 3 ..near to end...ended up at 4....

Premeir League is marketed brillaintly...the timing suits not only Europe ..in Asia too....

Barcelona were beaten by Hercules (at Camp Nou )who were relegated.
Sporting De Gijon defeated Madrid at Bernabeu ending the 8 years home record of Mourinjho in Domestic League .
Almeria who were relegated beat Madrid .
Valencia , Villareal ,Seville would have lost to Madrid at Bernabeu but have you seen those matches?. For about 75 minutes , Madrid and Mourinjho were stretched to their limits. Madrid escaped in those matches only because of the SPANISH PHILOSOPHY-That they play to win ,not to draw and so there is always a chance of losing. Similarly Barca -VillaReal and Barca-Valencia at Camp Nou were classics.
What I am trying to say is that if you watch LaLiga regularly you would really love it. I agree with you that EPL iS COMPETITIVE, but it is not because of any exceptional quality ,but because all the teams are pretty the same ,average to good. But in LaLiga you have 2 outstanding teams and this makes the other teams look inferior.

For your information- Until last year Man United were never able to win in SPAIN in Champions League .It was only last year they defeated Valencia at Mestalla. In recent years Villareal has played Man United 6 times and United were never able to beat them even once. We are talking about the so called inferior 3rd and 4th teams of LaLiga.
THE PROBLEM WITH LIGA is that it is not marketed aggressively in ASIA and the timings are not ASIA-FAR EAST FRIENDLY were as EPL plays their game even at noon to woo Malaysians,Indonesians ,Japanese etc. So smaller teams of LIGA have a shoe string budget.
If they get a better budget ,they will improve leaps and bounds.
    Just watch MALAGA this year.

what ever been said , eventhough La Liga is technically far far ahead than Premier League....Premier League is miles ahead in entertainment...just look at some of the results last season....

    Real Madrid v Deportivo (6-1)
    Malaga v Real Madrid (1-4)
    Real Madrid v Racing (6-1)
Real Madrid v Athletic Bilbao (5-1)
    Real Madrid v Sociedad (4-1)
    Real Madrid v Malaga (7-0)
    Sevilla v Real Madrid (2-6)
    Real Madrid v Getafe (4-0)
    Real Madrid v Almeria (8-1)

what does these types of results mean in a Top flight league ?

Englandil ethu Top 4 team aanu leagil draw kku vendi kalikkunnathu ?

That is simply becasue of the duopoly of Real Madrid & Barcelona...they themselves sell their media rights...in England FA is taking caring of it...they are distributing it ....even the 20th placed team in the League will get a very good share...

Barcelona 2-0 Bayern Munich: Thiago brace clinches Audi Cup for European champions

The Spanish giants emerged triumphant from the pre-season four-team tournament thanks to a double from their talented young playmaker in Munich on Wednesday evening

Barcelona have clinched the Audi Cup after a straightforward 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

The star of the show was Barca's emerging star Thiago Alcantara, who struck in either half to condemn the hosts to defeat, in what was an impressive all-round display from the 20-year-old.

The match was a somewhat low key affair despite the 60,000 packed into the stadium; Bayern fielded nine changes from the side that started the penalty-kick win over AC Milan, while Barca shuffled their pack but included the Thiago and Andres Iniesta in their midfield.

It was the Catalan side who enjoyed the majority of possession in the opening exchanges, but aside from a David Villa free-kick that was palmed to safety by Butt and a half-chance for Jonathan Soriano, opportunities on goal were at a premium.

Bayern should then have taken the lead against the run of play as David Alaba raced clear, but he hesitated with his finish, and Victor Valdes did extremely well to spread himself and block the effort.

The Austrian was made to rue that miss as Barca took the lead on 41 minutes. Maxwell's chipped cross into the area found Thiago at the back post, and the young Spaniard leapt higher than Diego Contento to glance his header into the corner.

The flow of play in the second-half was severely disturbed due to incessant substitutions from both sides. Bayern introduced the likes of Toni Kroos, Mario Gomez and Thomas Muller as they sought to peg back the European champions.

However, the new arrivals were left to look on in awe as Thiago all but ended the contest with his second goal of the evening. Finding space at the edge of the area, he expertly curled a shot from all of thirty yards into Butt's top left corner, and took the acclaim from his team-mates after another superb outing.

Barca were able to see out the match from there, and after edging past Internacional on penalties on Tuesday, Pep Guardiola's side ruthlessly clinched the Audi Cup on German soil.

Hertha Berlin 1-3 Real Madrid: Cristiano Ronaldo scores stunning free-kick as Jose Mourinho's men come from behind

The Portuguese began the comeback with a fine set piece before Karim Benzema bagged a goal either side of the break to give the Spanish side a comfortable victory in Berlin

A stunning free-kick from Cristiano Ronaldo and a Karim Benzema brace saw Real Madrid come from behind to comfortably beat Hertha Berlin 3-1 in the German capital in a friendly on Wednesday evening.

Winger Patrick Ebert gave Hertha a schock lead after just 18 minutes and the Bundesliga side looked lively for just under half an hour, but Madrid turned the match around in the space of five minutes through Ronaldo and Benzema, who also added a second shortly into the second half.

Madrid coach Jose Mourinho picked a strong side for the match in Berlin's Olympic Stadium, with Iker Casillas in goal, Alvaro Arbeloa, Pepe, Ricardo Carvalho and Marcelo at the back, Xabi Alonso and €30 million summer signing Fabio Coentrao in midfield, behind Mesut Ozil, Ronaldo and recent recruit Jose Callejon, and Benzema in the central striker role.

But Madrid did not have things all their own way early on as Hertha started brightly.

Casillas made a meal of Raffael's long-range effort, while Ebert was a constant threat and Pepe made one key intervention to deny the German side.

And the Bundesliga outfit shocked their illustrious visitors after 18 minutes, when Ebert slotted home neatly with an angled drive from just inside the box when the cross looked to have evaded everyone.

Madrid looked somewhat shocked, but the Germans' lead was deserved.
The Spanish side soon found their feet, however, and Callejon saw a good penalty shout turned down minutes later.

And after Benzema had blasted just over the bar, Madrid did level from a set piece - in spectacular fashion.

It was scored, inevitably, by Ronaldo, for whom no match is a friendly, with the Portuguese blasting an unstoppable drive into the top corner to equalise brilliantly after 28 minutes.

Madrid never looked back after that and Benzema made it 2-1 five minutes later, when he latched onto Callejon's pass and slotted a clinical finish past Hertha goalkeeper Thomas Kraft.

Cristiano then hit the post with a fierce drive and Ozil fired over the bar as Madrid piled on the pressure before the break.

After it, Benzema soon made it 3-1 as he took the ball around Kraft and slid into the empty net after good work from half-time substitute Sami Khedira, who had won back possession and set up the Frenchman.
Mourinho rang the changes after that and the game lost much of its earlier intensity.

Raffael came close with a blistering long-range effort for Hertha and Khedira, yet to score for Madrid, hesitated in a great position 14 minutes from time.

Kaka, on as a subsitute, also threatened with a late free-kick and Hertha failed to capitalise on a shocking mistake from Raul Albiol two minutes from time.

Why not add Barcelona v Real Madrid 5-0 ??
But does it mean that Madrid and Mourinjho are garbage?
As you are a person who is a master in analyzing football there is no need
for me to tell that goal margin does nt always tell the truth.
These margins reflect to an extent the playing style in Spanish Football.
The same Mourinjho struggled against Sporting De Gijon to score a goal at Camp Nou and lost the match. Madrid beat Almeria 8-1 when Almeria were already relegated ,but they lost at Almeria 2-1 in a significant match when the League title was still at stake.
Both Barcelona and Madrid have struggled against these shoe string budget teams . In some of those matches they would have won 3-1 and 4-1 at the end, but the matches were never one sided.

And you know Chelsea have won 8-0 and 7-1 in EPL as well, right?
