The Dutch were better than their last game against Denmark but Germans put them to sword by two excellent strikes from Mario Gomez (this Mario justifies his name while the other Mario you know it). As mentioned in my earlier post, Holland have the weakest defense among the pre-tournament favourite teams. Jetro Willems, surely has to buck up. Defensively and offensively he is too weak. The attacking movement from the opposite teams (Danes and Germans) started primarily from the left although the Danes scored from the right hand side of the Dutch defense. Affellay on the left is weak too. Personally, I was not happy with Marten Stekelenburg's goalkeeping. All the three goals he could have saved. The first one against the Danes he could have saved it with his legs but was too late to go down. The first goal against Germans he anticipated wrong strike and went down the other side. And in the second goal, he went down very easily and instead of using his Right hand to palm the ball away, he was using his left hand. Poor goalkeeping.

Final Assessment: The Dutch should really go for the kill in their final game against Portugal and score 3 or more goals and hope that the Germans beat the Danes or else should start packing their bags.
