    MOST INTERNATIONAL VICTORIES

    Iker Casillas---Spain---100 wins
    A. Hassan---Egypt---94 wins
    Lilian Thuram---France---94 wins
    Al-Deayea---S Arabia---89 wins
    Ali Daei---Iran---89 wins

Individual landmarks were surpassed as well, as captain Iker Casillas became the first player to reach 100 international wins, with his 509 minutes without conceding a goal in this year’s European Championship also breaking the longstanding tally of 494 set by Italian keeper Dino Zoff.

Fernando Torres finished as the Golden Boot winner with three goals, and became the first player in history to score in two Euro finals. Both goals were also assisted by Xavi, making the Barcelona midfielder the first to register two final assists.

David Silva’s two goals and three assists sees him directly involved in five goals, more than any other player at the tournament, to round off a hugely impressive collection of records for Spain, who now surely take their place in the pantheon as one of the greatest teams of all time.

And who could forget Vicente del Bosque, who has now won the Champions League (twice), World Cup and European Championship in his career, the only coach ever to do so.

Sunday’s win also sees them draw level with Germany on three European Championship trophies, having also claimed the crown in 1964 and 2008.

La Roja’s four-goal victory is the largest ever in a European Championship or World Cup final, while they also become the first side to win three international tournaments in a row.
