If Apple is worried, it's with good reason. The Samsung
Galaxy S III has surpassed even the companies own
expectations, crossing the ten million sales mark two weeks
earlier than even Samsung predicted!
CNetreported that Shin Jong-kyun, the president of
Samsung's information technology and mobile
communication division, told reporters that the Android-
powered smartphone surpassed the 10 million sales mark
but did not reveal specific sales figures. "That translates to
about 190,000 Galaxy S3 devices sold every day for the past
two months", said the report.
The super light device weighs 133g and is only 8.6 mm thick.
It runs Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, and is powered by
Samsung's quad-core microprocessor and has 1GB RAM.
The camera is 8 megapixel which matches up to both the
iPhone 4S and HTC One X.
In addition to all these features, the Samsung S III has a Siri
like voice command program called S Voice.
Meanwhile the battle between the two tech giants has
entered its bitterest phase yet, with a court hearing into
alleged patent violations been taken up today. The hearings
are expected to last for three months over claims of patent
infringement from both companies across various iPad,
iPhone and Galaxy devices.
Apple first sued Samsung on the basis that it had 'slavishly
copied' the design of its iPad in the Galaxy Tab 10.1 device,
and Samsung counter sued Apple, saying it had infringed on
several patents.
