I just shared a info from 2-3 sources like evry other guy, these are the general areas (websites) which people refer to for film related info. The credibility part is totally different (not in our ctrl too).

Anyways, lets leave it here. Sorry if you felt offended

Regarding Suriya's masala route, its too early to take a call on VP's project IMO. Singam 2 is definitely one.
I wouldn't even call VP a director, which is why I'm not so happy with that project. The point I'm trying to make is Surya is extremely talented and it shouldn't be wasted on someone of VP's caliber. Have you seen Mangatha? Such rubbish movies shouldn't be on his profile. I don't want to hijack this thread for this discussion.

And btw no offense taken. All I'm saying is Nanban deserves much better than some negative comments from untrustworthy sources. It's a healthy trendsetter for mass heroes relying on masala flicks and multistarrer projects. Hats off to Vijay, Jeeva and Srikanth for humbling themselves and choosing to share screen space equally.

And being a ardent film fan and a film making student, I never thought a day would come where I would defend Vijay and his movies lol. Good for him, he has earned a lot of quality movie lovers like myself as fans, with this single project. And what with Yohan and Thupakki lined up, I'm sure he's going to revive his next numero uno status.

Sorry no offense meant..just to let u know.
So called Class movies of surya Kaakka kaaka, ghajini, nandha were all had initially Ajith as the lead.
Then after getting rave and good name.started to work only with Proven Box office successful directors. He agreed to work only after massive succ of Mankaatha with VP.
So surya is no a class actor and natural like a kamal, mohanlal etc.
Why not he doesnt even esperiments like kamal, vikram. Its all because insecurity in boxoffice.Which should not be a concern for an ACTOR.
so surya is Just another commercial actor to have 100% success acts only with gvm, hari, arm now vp.

    Amarnath,

Where in my post have I stated that Surya hasn't worked with established directors? I have already stated somewhere he doesn't have a diehard fanbase like Vijay or Ajith. So he HAS to rely on good directors to give hits. Ofc he isn't a natural like Kamal or lal sir. They're legends. Surya tries, puts in efforts, which is why I like him.

And please excuse me. I don't wish to carry this discussion here. I have too much respect and like for Nanban to litter it with irrelevant posts.

VP - okayish IMO, I like Chennai-28 .... Saroja was also very avg for me ....
His story part is not all that bad, his screenplay is where he falters... he also has some set of people in all his films, so I guess he is always forced to retain some elements

Coming to Nanban, if you had observed my post ... I would have used the term "SHOCKING" , implying that I too didn't expect/did not want Nanban to falter .... Unfortunately, according to some sources - it has not lived up to the mark and hence that negativity ....
    2012 - full of surprises!

What on earth can Suriya do if someone rejected it ??? FYKI - Kaakha Kaakha was rejected by Madhavan, Ajith, Vikram, Vijay

Cinema is business , entertainment - for an actor its the 1st one and for us its the latter ..... why would someone risk their business ???? that's y he works with people who has gained experience ....

btw, Kaakha Kaakha with Gautham (he was just a film old) ; Mounam Pesiyadhe (1st film for Ameer) ; SOK (1st film for Krishna) ; Nandha (2nd film for Bala) ; Ayan (2nd film for K.V.Anand) ..... do you call all these as experience ???

And keep in mind, only if a hero delivers / he is capable to deliver acc to a producer, they will come forward n invest .... GVM , KVA , ARM have said they would love to work with Suriya, it is not mutual ....

mods, sorry for spamming around, pl bare with me :-/

    Oh dont feel bad man,
just to let you know that BOX OFFICE SUCCESS comes first nowdays..thatsall..Cheers.
Also not to offend any vijay fans I am posting this.I am in HYD people are critisizing vijay(amir khan factor) and also said surya would have been good option.I too agree with that.
Also glad to see vijay getting good reviews in TN.
But sorry in AP,Shankar films only created huge markets for Arjun,Vikram and sidharth.but with snehitudu he didnt do as expected.rather getting negative feedback.seems first flop for shankar in AP.Unlucky vijay

^^^ Lol. You're here to create a stir. I don't think anyone other than Vijay could have pulled off a college student role. The charisma factor has been missing for a long time after Rajinikanth and then Vijay came along to fill the void. It's his first attempt in telegu, so give him a break. Surya is familiar to them, so ofc they'd think he'd have been a better choice.

    aswin,
//I can show you GVM interview where he said AJith was first choice and later vikram Vj etc.
Now Yohan also gowthan prepared on lines of Bourne series for Ajiths only ok.//its just to let you know ajith is not as good as surya in selecting scripts thatsall.

Have I mentioned surya as incapable..????just mentioned he too a commercial actor who doesnt risk like Aj,Vj thatsall.

I have no prob with surya working with established dir.
    cheers
