Spirit Review : Its a class from Ranjith the Master

Expectation : I had much hope in Ranjith after his previous flicks were too good when comparing with other Malayalam movies of recent time. From kayyoppu to IndianRupee Ranjith found interesting and verity plots and managed to present that in a typical Ranjith style. This one too was an interesting plot, and what made is so special that the GrandMaster of MalayalamCinema - Mohanlal is joining hands with Ranjith after many years. Promos and Posters made me feel that Ranjith crafted a beautiful move once again.

Now into the Movie,
Story :
Raghunandan is working on a tv news channel as a interviwer in a show named 'show d spirit'. He is mean time writing a noval too. His ex wife meera (kaniha) and alexy(shankar) are his best friends. Raghu's son now with meera n alexy. Madhu neighbour of raghunandhn also have good role. Leena as a police cop. Tinu tom as bar attender. Nandhu, thilakan as alcaholist. Sidarth as a lyrict. D movie deals with bad things of the socity, liquor, drugs, smoking, harrsment over ladies etc. Once its found alexy is got cancer. And raghu realised that he is additted to alcohol. Can raghu escape from it? What will happen to alexy? Can raghu change attitude of socity? Now rest is on screen.

Performance :
MohanLal :
Super performance. As he best in alcaholic role this one is great. Ranjith really made him bring master class perfirmance. But let me say awards for acting may be a distant hope.
Thilakan :
very Small role.. but claps for intro.
Shankar :
Nicely done.
Kaniha : Really worked out in a great way
Govindan kutti : A good and important role. Nice.
Madhu : had moments to perform.

Kalpana, leena, nadhu made their part well

Direction :
The biggest plus of the movie is Ranjith. Superb class direction. On the negative side Dragging in 30-45 min of second half. And lack of comadies etc to attract general movie viwers. Climax was great.
Script :
Superb agian, Dialoges are great as always. There are new generation influvance too in his dialoge like uses of fu_k etc.

Yet another class movie movie from Ranjith ; Go and grab the ticket if you really love class movies
