Aarakshan Film Freak Review

Theater: National Cinema, 11/8/2011- 7.30pm, Status- 55-60% (Iftar time affected crowd pull, night shows are good)

Aarakshan is a socio-political drama, Movie deals with a sensitive social issue ie. Caste-based reservations in our education system…..High voltage confrontations between the characters are the highlight of the movie. Dialogs are very powerful and slightly offensive at times. Basic thread is definitely inspirational..But screenplay is not gripping especially second half...After a good n promising first half movie loses its focus thus movie test ur patience many times. Post interval section becomes more emotional. Songs are passable n no relevance. Performance of Amitabji n Manoj Vajpai ..top class. Saif n Deeps are equally good. (but less screen time) over all Aarakshan is Inspirational and thought-provoking and hard hitting but slow n inconsistent. Watch it for the sincere effort n sparkling performances..

+ves- Basic plot, sincere attempt, Confrontation scenes, dialog, performance
-ves- Inconsistent screenplay, music, Second hour slow n lose focus, Running time

Verdict: 6/10
