I have been thinking for a while to start a thread to find out malayalam movies copied from other languages, books etc...We know Priyadarshan is a veteran in this. But the truth is there are many unknown faces too, people who are too careful to avoid popular movies and lift from the unpopular ones. Let us find out some of them.

Our main resource can be IMDB. Using search feature in IMDB, you can find out details of almost all hollywood movies. Some Indian movies are also listed but most of them are incomplete. Using IMDB search you can even search the story of hollywood movies. Therefore if you have any doubt on a malayalam film, using IMDB search, input some of the key terms involved in the story and search. If you are lucky, you will find the right one.

Over the last few years, I have used IMDB effectively and located many malayalam movies which have resemblance to hollywood movies. I shall post my findings here. But you should also join. If you know any hollywood, bollywood movie, book, drama etc which might have an influence on a particular malayalam movie, please reply to this thread. Let's catch the copy cats.

But your 4th one is wrong. It is not Baby's Day Out. It is another movie.

And your Aayushkalam entry is not complete. Actually people have a misconception that Ayushkalam came from Ghost. Sure it has some scenes from Ghost. But there is a better source, another hollywood movie from which Kamal copied everything, including heart transplant. Let us see if someone finds that movie.
