Is actor Mohanlal behind land grabs in Sindhudurg ?

Kozhikode, Jul 18 (TruthDive): K A Rauf – businessman and co-brother of Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty alleged that 2000 acres of land in the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra was grabbed by a ‘super star’ in the Malayalam film industry and an NRI industrialist. He is to approach the PM, Defence Minister Antony with proof.

Rauf said, “With the help of top politicians and the proprietors of a leading private hospital in the city, the group grabbed nearly 2,000 acres of land. This include 300 acres of land I purchased in 2006 for agriculture purpose.”.

Sindhudurg is famous for its natural beauty like beaches, backwater, waterfalls and pilgrimage centers. The major attraction here is the long and narrow stretch of beaches. On a clear day, you can see the sea-bed through a depth of 20 ft.

Then of course, there are the forts – Sindhudurg Fort one of Maharashtra’s more popular and important sea fort built-in the 17th century and the famous Padmagarh fort. The name of the fort is given to the Sindhudurg district. Tourist from all over the world visit throughout the year to see this Maratha glory.

Sindhudurg is in the Kokan area of Maharastra having picturesque stretch of land on the west coast of India, endowed with the beautiful seashore, picturesque mountains and scenic natural beauty and known for tropical fruits like the world-famous alphonso mangoes, cashews, jamuns etc.

Though Rauf did not name the star or businessman the indications point towards Mohanlal and a group of company funded by NRI’s. Yet another reason to zero in on this actor is the move to give a complaint to Defence Minister who has nothing to do with land grab cases. Mohanlal was conferred with Hony Lt General in the territorial army and this could be a major embarrassment.
