Rajesh Pillai announces his next
When the director of an offbeat film that created ripples at the BO announces his next, then it is with great gusto that the news is received. So when Rajesh Pillai, director of the one of the biggest hits of last year gets talking about his next venture, all of us are curious, to say the least!
The director's next film is scripted by Urumi fame Sankar Ramakrishnan. "I'm now in the process of fixing the star cast. The film will be a multi-starrer, with each one having a prominent part to play. Yes, just like in 'Traffic.' Prithviraj, Kunchacko Boban and Fahad Fazil have been confirmed for the project. We are talking with one more young star, who is yet to confirm his availability," Rajesh tells KT from Mumbai. "The film will have ample scope of performance for female characters, too. Currently, we are on the lookout for actresses who fit in the respective roles," he informs.
Rajesh is in Mumbai for discussions on the Hindi remake of Traffic. The film, which was supposed to have started its shoot last November, was postponed due to "technical reasons." But the director tells us that the project is definitely on. "I'm in Mumbai for the final round of discussions before we announce the film. Endemol Productions will be helming the project. More details will be let out once we are set to announce it officially," he signs off.
